I have a problem with patch v1.3

I play BF2 like 3 mounths maybe and the version was 1.0, so I wanted
to patch it.
i downloaded patch v1.3 and I installed it and when i tryed to play the game
the screen became black and there was a notice:

have u got a 9200 or 9250 ATI graphics Card ?
if so there have been problems with these card since patch 1.12 or 1.2 i think
also did u get the Full 1.3 patch thats 415mb ?

yeah i think the min spec for Nvidia cards changed to fx5700 after the 1.2/1.3

wait and see if anyone else can still play with the same card first

If u do get another Graphics Card i would recommend you get at least a nvidia 6600

I installed Special Forces and that patched v1.1
and thats did the same problem

Your graphics card is very borderline. If you dont want to buy a better one, can you borrow one from a friend briefly?

Well you should upgrade it regardless, but try someone elses first to make sure its your graphics card - otherwise you could have a nice shiny new graphics card but something else could be the issue.

Actually, while youre at it, you need twice the amount of ram as well. In fact, what are your specs?

2.6GHz what though? Celeron, Athlon, etc. You really need 1GB of ram to play BF2 half decent as well.

No, that may not necessarily remove your problem, but it would make a marked improvement on how fast the game runs and how good it looks.

But yes, I suspect your components may be prohibiting BF2 from working.

Well from what i know your all worng. Here are my Computer specs

AMD 64+Bit
512Megs of DDR memory
and a Nvida GeForce FX 5200 Ultra with 128megs of ram

I run BF2 fine with out any errors so from what i can tell from programing is that who ever is haveing the errors from that screen shot it looks as either you dont have the newest video driver because video drivers make a differnce in the game because i play the game just fine i have no probloms at all. goto www.nvida.com and download the newest graphics drivers and install them. If that still doesnt work you may need to get a better card idk but i run the game just fine. the error says Microsoft Visual C++ (C++) is a computer programing languge for those that dont know and Visual works with VB aka Visual Basics so theres gotta be a video error somewhere either his card isnt good enogh or he just needs new drivers idk but theres my help on this topic.

and this post is bull**** because i play the game with only a 1.6 AMD 64-bit but the only thing that really matters is u dont really need 1gb stop posting stupied crap that you dont really need i bet u this guy thats haveing the problom with his game isnt rich lol 1gb my *** he only needs 512 cause thats what i use is 512 so idk this post is dumb u dont need 1gb of ram and if anything a celeron is quite dumb because there CPUs are vary unstable and cant handel gaming that much they take alot of system memory.

WTF? Please don't invite me to your 4th Birthday party. And lay off the drugs, they're doing nothing for you.

1GB is pretty much essential to run BF2 at any respectable speed. You can do it with 512MB, but it loads and plays like a dog. Thats a fact. And your graphics card, like the person who started this thread, is scraping the bottom of the barrel in terms of its capability to play the game. I would hate to see what it looks like. If I were either of you, I would scrounge, beg and borrow to upgrade my graphics card and ram. It wouldnt cost a lot to see a marked difference in how the game runs.
