If the server has voting disabled then its up to the admins to ensure each commander is doing their job properly and assisting their team and not hindering it therefore that line from the ROE I qouted comes into effect and they can be kicked.Comment

THANK YOU! What's wrong with swearing? I understand that some people dislike it, and some servers have rules that prohibit swearing. I respect that, if people don't like swearing, they can leave. If a server says no cursing, don't curse, or find a server that allows free speech. I'm not saying that you should just go swearing all day, I personally don't do that, but if you want to, you have a right to. Like killa said, it's just a word. What makes damn different from dang? D*mn: Same with dang't over God please Damn it's soul lol. It's a term used created by religious people so they might find it offending or after-life threatening? (I'm not at all religious btw). Dang't is far more accepted because it doesn't have the same conatations e.g humour. Yes, I find hillbilly redneck talk hilarious.
Further the insult line, I find when swearing is available it always becomes an aggressive argument. Taking it away from them, they can't really get angry and write INTENDED horrible sh*t over the screen without being kicked, so they let it slide.Comment

guys i think we are missing the point here
there is nothing wrong with swearing in itself however a bit of tact needs to be used...
i have a question for everyone...how would you feel if your boss tore you a new one and put you down in front of everyone...pretty awful huh.
what if they'd pulled you aside and had a quiet word with you, i bet you'd be more likely to take it on board than if you were abused!
i'm not debating that the commander did the wrong thing and yes he probably deserved a talking to, however it could of been done a little better than someone having a temper tantrum, and over voice as well..thats weak!
admins have a responsibilty same as players, so this guy needs to grow up a bitComment

This looks to me that both may have been in the wrong.
I play commander a lot. There have been times that I've dropped arty and accidently wiped out an entire squad on my side. And I've done it multiple times in a game. Sometimes, NO MATTER HOW MUCH YOU TRY, no matter how many times you click a squad leader and click "Move Artillery", no matter how much advance warning you give, infantry runs into that arty circle like a knat runs into a bug zapper. Sometimes, there's nothing, you, as commander, can do about the stupidity of infantry.
So, maybe this guy wasn't a noob commander. Maybe it wasn't even his fault.
From the little bit I read here, I feel that the admin of that server went overboard, and didn't give the guy enough time. Now, if it was an obvious TK artillery, when there were no enemies around, that's a different story. But accidents happen, even multiple times in a game.
So, while it may not be a break of ROE, it still seems like an admin mistake.Comment

Thats the problem too much 'you can't do that' etc, out of all the games I've played BF2 is the only game where you get kicked for profanity. Really if the commander the ''noob'' is too incompetent, I would tell him to resign or be kicked, why the hell should everyone else playing be killed by their own teams arty. If the admin was paying for the server he has freedom of speech, thats what the game should have, who cares if someone swears big deal ever heard the message ''online expeirence may change'' or whatever. The game is rated 16+ in the UK and 16 is the adult age therefore if at that age your not used to hearing **** **** **** all the time then your isolated from society.
If kids play this game like 10, 11 blah blah then thats the parents choice. Same with counter strike, you have like 1000's of 10 year olds playing that, and I bet if they kill someone with a headshot or whatever, then the person they killed = noob, bursts out with some nice language :). I just hope to hell they don't put stupid swear filters in any other future game.Comment

im like the most friendly player you can ever encounter, when i see a little n00b crashing jets , i tell them how to use them right, and i never fly the jets more than twice when i see ppl waiting, but when i see abusive ppl and they even teamkill the player (i dont care if its admin) i start attacking the sh*t out of the attacker until he forgets the little n00bs and kicks me, fortunately that doesnt happen a lot and most of the time i become the admin's friend :P. :pComment

ok i don't believe he should curse at other players but i see it all the time somepeople dont know they can cuss and NOT press the chat button...or type it...i mean think how many people you could kill in the time it takes to type: #%&^$^*%& you E$%$%^$* moron.
Anyways I have and will continue to kick people who take admin to pad their stats by using the resources exclusively for them self ( happens everyday) or by doing nothing just hoping for that extra average commander points...
if that is against the ROE then oh well it shouldnt be..commander is a very important position, if one is doing it right and the other never spots enemy or drops needed supplies or arty your team is doomed. No one person should be able to ruin a round for there own stats.
Now i have had newer players come in and when i ask them about their commanding skills nicely ( cause they have been not doing so well) most apologize for being new at it, these i let slide and give hints to as we all have to start somewhere...Comment

Yes, I have a ranked server as well in my clan. But we only kick for these reasons:
Intentional team killing.
Forced team killing (like when u stand in front of the jet u didn't get so u force a TK)
Abusive players (players who will use the J key like its freakin IRC and being abusive to other players)
Commanders who spam "negative", "Affirmative" over and over again.
People using hacks/cheats.
Other than that, EVERYTHING else is allowed. Wanna base rape? Go right ahead. Wanna steal enemy vehicles? Go ahead, they shoulda been using them in the first place. Wanna arty the enemy base? Fine! Do it if it helps your team win. Wanna bunny hop to avoid that APC shooting at you? Whatever it takes man.... Its WAR! Everything goes.Comment

Try writing assassin on any server that enforces "non-swearing" rules, and see if you get kicked.
Another to try with is cockpit....which begs the question: What if someone named cockpit-assassin tried joining a server? Would he immediately be kicked (2 warnings, 3 times is a kick?)Comment
