They should've devised a waiting line system for vehicles.

After watching countless games of maps with one or two planes on them (such as oman) and seeing a quarter of the team waiting at the airfield, I start to think a far better system would've been a line system. Simple like applying for commander, just have a vehicle menu come up and have apply buttons under the pictures of each vehicle. When it's your turn, you spawn IN that vehicle, and the vehicle is locked and nobody else can jump in it for up to 10 seconds. Similar to how commander offers time out.

This would get all of the plane/tank/chopper campers out in the battle. When it's their turn they hit accept and they're put in the vehicle.

I've said this before, to an extent.
The main problems you speak of, are choppers and planes.

I believe these items should have their own "SPAWN" point. When in use, you can spawn on the area. However you might have a long wait. BUT, when one is in the air....... one can spawn in to wait. 2 if its a 2 seater. After that no one can spawn on that area.

Thats kind of silly. The entire thing is silly in my opinion. Just add more vehicles. I've played custom maps with more then 4 planes, its awesome to have 9 or 10 planes in the air at a time!

The funniest thing about that is none of the people who wants the jet had any intention to help their side to win the game and 90% of them can't fly. All they want is 1337 P01n7z and an invite to join the smacktard brigade!

Airplanes were never so popular until the easy A2A brought up the level of appeal with the newbies. Even though overall the airplanes are less powerful, the air to air combat takes far less skill than it used to and killing other airplanes and helicopters is a breeze. Bottom line is a newbie pilot can take on a pro like me and actually have a chance of shooting me down should the random variables favor him. Oh how I miss the days in 1.1X with an empty airstrip and dogfighting that required buckets of skill. I'd have to say a good 80% of the time when I entered a plane I didn't have to compete for it at all.

its true, just make planes harder to handle and shoot so that noobs cant handle them and problem is solved,it will just like good old days

Yeah theres plenty of noobs. Wake is hell. When I play on a vanilla server ( rarely) I try to play on a map where the planes are alteast equally balenced. Most of the time I stick to SF though just because the choppers aren't as nerfed. Granted I can still kick ass with the vanilla helos, but its a fight for them, and when I do get them I always get a gunner that either doesn't realize the turrent moves, or doesn't realize the TV Missile can turn.

Planes to me should of be nerfed. They can easly advoid AA, and a lone pilot can stay in the air most of the game. Helicopters got everything firing at them. Needless to say theres more people trying to get in the planes then there was. I'd like to see an improvement on the ammount of air vehicles.

I don't understand why EA didn't fix the A2A for 1.3. I don't keep up to date on BF2 news, but I highly expected it based off J10 complaints from 95% players.

Today I was flying and everything in the air I would shoot down with no problem, and it was always the same guys. They just kept trying and trying, though I only got shot down once while doing a slow pass for repair. I also helped the team alot by clearing a flag or defending a flag. So a waiting thing would be dumb, some noobs don't even last 2mins in a jet.

Well, I was going to say, that also similar to commander and ranks taking preference, perhaps for airplanes, people with better pilot proficiency (as simple as the badges if they like) can get preference when applying.

Though, I knew saying that would have another side to the argument that people will never learn if every game they join some hotshot pilot is occupying the plane and never dying.

However, the people that get the planes that don't know how to fly die very quickly now with improved AA.

why would you stand there waiting on aircraft instead of helping your team win??

Nah no point, leave it as it is. But I know what you mean with a quarter of the team at the heli/airfirled point. I've seen nearly the whole team just waiting around for choppers etc. Other bad things is you get the same Commander over and over again, because they have the highest rank.

I like it better now in all honesty. Dogfights back in the day when you had to use guns to take down other pilots could turn into 20-minute turning festivals, and I'm talking about good pilots that use their cameras to track the enemy plane. Plus you had to figure out different gun leads because of server pings. It's 10 times worse than it was in '42 because the planes move faster, so gunning down a turning plane is something very tedious. Maybe you enjoyed that 20-minute arm workout, but I didn't. Infact, if anything, it made the better pilots more effective and the semi-average start getting shot down.

That's what I'm saying. This would take those people off of the runway holding their "use key" while 4 other guys are trying to bump them out of the spawn area, and it would put those people out in the fighting.
