yea im on ur side entertainer, i liek u are a sniper but not 1 that sites a mile of picking off afk privates. although sniper may not be the best at runing in and mowing down 5 people at CQC but they are great at...
1) spotting enemies and warnign team about them
2) suppresing fire, even a inaccurate sniper can fire a few rounds and make an enemy scared enough to hide somewhere and be useless
3) defending bases, believe it or not a well trained sniper can stop the hordes in there tracks, a few well placed claymores and a loaded pistol does the job good.
4)attacking bases, snipers unlike most dont usually want to be in CQC and will often go about capping flags with no1 there
5) grenades, all good sniper will be good at grenades, with out a decent close range weapon wat better to do to rip apart a whole squad than well placed grenade. alot of other kits(especially support) lauch grenades randomly as they are almost dead or hoping to get a kill but rarely do)
6) helicopters, snipers who use the upgrade sniper can shoot through enemy cockpits of not just helicopters but jets, a well placed sniper can camp an enemy airfield/carrier and kill any1 in aircraft. therefor eletting your air OWN.

if you think sniping is boring you either arnt very good or youre vs'ing a nooby team who cant catch a base on such maps as wake or clean sweep. sorry for spelling mistakes i couldnt be bothered to go back and check. i would also like more info on these sniper groups.

cmon... its not hard to get a MASSIVE ammount of kills sniping along the lengths of wake island. in fact its the easiest map for a sniper and ive had many gold medals on that map, best was probably 60ish kills.

Not really.

Karkand would have to be the easiest. Almost all people on that map took sopme damage from a frag, bullet, fall, w/e - so it only takes a shot to kill them. On Wake, you have other snipers take your kill if you dont get a headshot in. Plus, on Wake you have to worry about artillery, planes, and helis.

Karkand is the best IMO, then Sharqi, then Wake, then Mashtuur.

Don't take it personally dude - it's a reflex reaction to the way snipers have always been portrayed in games, either completely superfluous like they are in BF2 or ridiculously overpowered like in Counterstrike
Things like having 2 (used to be 5) indestructible remote win win weapons and being the choice class of tking pilots because of the M95 hasn't earned them any love
You just keep playing as a sniper because it is what you love, who gives a damn what others think

Well said.. He was justs asking for people who like sniping that there are others getting together to have fun. No different than a ton of people here who have been clammering for infantry only servers.

DaSniper079 i'd sniper circles around you, boy showin screens mean crap all, you need to proove your self in actual combat.

and TL TigerLand clan have a Sniper Devison, that already do stuff like that but they do it on there own server.

ANywho, those who say the sniper doesnt help the team. You know whats awesome? I was on PLA when the BH PWNED on Wake. The BH comes in. We are at our last flag South Base. We are still winning by about 60 tickets. Here is the awesome part. I pull my M95, snipe the gunners, and then the clueless pilot who doesnt realize his gunners are dead. I do it again about three times. We won that round by 4 tickets. If the BH was able to rape us at South Base, guess what? We would have lost. The AT was busy with the armour so they wouldnt be able to down it.

Yeah if you go prone against a sniper, unless you're a sniper yourself, it's just asking to die. I've seen people do that to me when I'm a sniper and I'm always amazed. Yes, the G36E is a good gun, but don't go prone 150m away when you KNOW I'm a sniper and expect to survive.

And almanac pretty much nailed it IMO. Sniper isn't the class that should be out capping flags (although they can, and I have before, but doing so can easily get you killed, which is why I'm a horrible sniper). Also, yeah, headshots on hopping or moving targets are almost impossible, so I don't bother going for them either. Moving targets get the body shot and, if they're close enough, the switch to the pistol for the kill. I only go for the headshot on people who are standing still or prone, or in some kind of mounted gun like the Vodnik or a mounted MG.

It's not impossible to hit them on the run of you know what your doing. Bunny hopping on the other hand is hard.

I play on mostly oman server @ moongamers, 50% of the time you will see me picking people off at both airfields. Its amazing how many people stand still and then when they get in the jet they think they are safe. How do people class snipers as useless when 1 can destory a airfield and 2 can DEMOLISH it.
