Hi everyone, I and a couple of other people have set up a sniper community for BF2, we will go around servers together and sniper and we also set up events and competitions so if you want to be a part of this visit us here and sign up on the forums, we are a really nice bunch of people and hope to see you sniping out there soon :)

I thought there already was a bunch of people who went around various servers always running the sniper kit. I believe we call them 'Privates' or something like that.

Actually, I have played against a team of snipers before, and I must say claymore spamming never felt so annoying. But it did get amusing after all the flags were capped and we got the pleasure of watching our heli go to each building top and maim the snipers positioned there while the rest of the enemy team waited for the round to end (they had no more flags, you see). Fun times.

It's very obvious that you guys have played against some s**t snipers, not all snipers "sit on top of a building somewhere a mile away from the action" lots are at the front line with their squad providing support when an enemy is spotted at long range, think of how screwed u would be without a sniper in the squad?! Yes, there are certain snipers that do that but I can think of a few that do that and could wipe out a whole squad by doing it. You guys dont seem to appreciate what a big role a sniper can play in a squad.Comment

When an enemy is spotted at long range, he isn't a threat (unless he is a sniper as well, in which case I'd much rather have a medic in my squad that can revive one of us should the sniper actually manage to take one of us down).when an enemy is spotted at long range, think of how screwed u would be without a sniper in the squad?!
Wipe out a whole squad by sniping? Suuuuuure... A squad of one, maybe. One medic alone would negate the usefulness of an enemy sniper, not to mention medics get ARs and can fight very effectively on the front lines as well so they can help with the flag capping duties.Originally posted by EntertaineR_06
Snipers have their uses, yes, but they are the least useful class in the game (again, barring claymore spamming). They have no teamwork ability and, unlike assault, have a VERY hard time holding their own in CQC so they're not good for capping flags. Unless you remove all vehicles and medics from the game, a whole team of snipers would be murdered by any other half-decent team, no matter how good of shots they are.

We don't understand what, exactly? That there are people here who have played this game for hundreds of hours and realised that as far as teamwork goes, snipers rank #7 out of 7? They're fun to play and mess around with, but they're not a teamwork-oriented class. A team of medics will REAM an infantry map, and a team of engineers will dominate a vehicle map. Snipers would be almost powerless to stop either. They have no anti-vehicle capabilities (well, hand grenades, I suppose - I've taken out Vodniks as a sniper using nades, but almost every class gets nades), no CQC capabilities, no special teamwork skills like resupply or healing or repairs. Don't take it personally dude - it's a reflex reaction to the way snipers have always been portrayed in games, either completely superfluous like they are in BF2 or ridiculously overpowered like in Counterstrike
Things like having 2 (used to be 5) indestructible remote win win weapons and being the choice class of tking pilots because of the M95 hasn't earned them any love
You just keep playing as a sniper because it is what you love, who gives a damn what others thinkComment

CQC is alot of snipers strong point and a lot of us will go out capping just as a normal player as any other class would do, it all depends on the map. Yes there are many that could wipe out a whole squad, medic or not as medic's are stupid and stand still when reviving people...Comment
