Very interesting post - might explain the occasional people who appear to be immune to PKM bullet-streams .... (I suck, but it does seem to me that almost everybody who appears to be good really is).

I get mad sometimes with snipers - quite a number of times I have been killed by a sniper picking off spawn points. Don't mind as much when they are capturing a flag, but when they are just sitting there getting points....!

Sniper Job Description: Sit back and sniper at far away enemies without being seen.

Thing that tweaks people off: Being shot from nowhere.

Thus, we have a conundrum.

No, seriously, welcome to BF2.
But if a sniper IS charging a flag, that's one dumb/dead sniper. Sometimes one, usually both. Besides, just think... if he's sniping at you, at least he's not spamming claymores on the flags!

I read it all, and it was very helpfull in understanding why i keep being killed behind walls and dying with one hit shots :p.

I didn´t thought that computers and internet connection would have such a major impact in gaming, but I have a clan mate that is an amazing player and his brother also...I thought they were awsome killing machines until I played in their computer, suddenly I was also the king of the battlefield.
Bottom line, skill is important and a good pc and internet conection are also very important, people who have them will almost everytime own you.

With an onboard gfx, you may not be able to run it. Is it shared RAM? The processor is probably good enough, but its going to burn a hole through the table in short order.

I didn't realise internet lag would be so important! This is my first online game, and I can see why people rave so much about on-line games!

I get a ping of around 30 at best, and try to connect to anything from 120 downwards.

What would be a good ping?

And what would be a good way to reduce this - I use a h/w router, Antivir, and Jetico Firewall.

My PC is pretty well tweaked - it only uses 150Mb of 2Gb running 24 processes.

The laptop does share RAM, and I still havenet got round to installing it - I don't think it'll cope, but I'll give it a try.
