    Re: Reload rate on jets

Guys I'm sure every tanker or foot soldier who ever got bombed or strafed complained about jets being a pain in the a**. I don't think they should be made weaker though, in any war ace pilots own the air its the same in BF2...basically skill is rewarded in that one very skilled player makes a difference over other average pilots. Footies never really had a chance against airpower and still don't, i don't think that should be changed because people are unhappy the pilots on their team aren't as good as the others. At the end of the day the game's reality based, so like the Iraq war if you ve a crap airforce expect to get pretty chewed up on the ground.

If the airpower on vanilla maps were made to be more like the air power in AF, then I'd be happy.

        Actually they are quite comparable.

Are you sure you want to increase reload time? Because this would make me to forget tanks and concentrate on infantry instead. Is that what you want? Nose cannon is one hell of a weapon. It's ten times as effective against troops as bombs, luckily not many use it, because they want to do something usefull like take out tanks. Stop whining, removing bombs wouldn't be the answer. Rape would still go on and the only way to stop it is either AA or good pilot.

For the next week I'm going to concentrate exclusively on shooting down planes and see how I do. I bet you I'll do pretty well and be a nice pain in the neck for a lot of pilots

On another note, if you wanted to force pilots to land to reload you'll need to make landing easier and the planes better at taxiing on the ground.

Well said. I'll be happy to land to rearm/repair if all vehicles must do the same. Use a stationary repair pad or an engy. No magic supply crates, or magic auras from engy occupied vehicles.

You'll have to explain that one Chris.

Sure you can compare basic black and white stats but you can do that to anything.

A tank in my opinion is totally different to a jet.

Not a flame but as infantry I know I have a better chance against a tank than a jet and the crux of this thread directly relates to that. All change threads like this come about because someone thinks something is overpowered or an exploit. If the two were easily comparable I would expect to see many more nerf tank threads but they all seem to be nerf jet threads.

I believe in fixing exploits like C4 chucking or dolphin diving but not nerfing things that do not have to be.

                  Re: Reload rate on jets

For one, tanks affect more people on teh battlefield directly (keyword), than jets, so you have more people running with AT equipment, than people trying to take down jets. I hope you see what I mean.

Bottomline, unless someone is personally screwing your butt on the battlefield, theres **** chance of you retaliating, and jets arent too close to infantry as tanks. So the difference is mostly psychological.

However, one single AT unit cant take down a tank, especially when hes a newbie to the kit. One single guy cant take down a jet either, and most AAers are new to the "kit".

jets aren't so bad if the air assets on your team keep them occupied.
