The fact is we are all addicted to BF series and we'll all buy 2142 when it comes out. We may not play 2142 if we discover it's rubbish, however we'll all buy it out of curiosity.

I am really leaning more towards UT 2007

I'll second that. I've been playing that franchise since Unreal came out in 1998 and based on Epic's previous efforts my guess is UT2007 will have top notch net code and look awesome. With all those game modes and a fully supported modding community I get more hours of fresh game play per dollar spent from UT than I have anywhere else. Epic makes it's money licensing their engine, so with UT2007 basically a giant advertisment you know they are going to put their best foot forward. From what I can tell BF2142 sounds like a BF2 mod they want to charge $50 for.

They only introduce the problems later on, if you are interested in it get it before they **** it up

I will for sure check out the demo... From previews of the beta it seems there may be some really cool inovations.

Squad Beacons - SLs will have the ability to place a beacon anywhere on the map, his squad members will be able to spawn there. The enemy can camp or destroy the beacon if found.

Information network - There will be only 4 classes and each class will give your squad mates (only your squad) different information on spotted enemies... Support will tell you how much health and ammo they have left. Assault will tell you which kit they are. AT will give you info on vehicles. Recon will give you something else can't remember. This will encourage diverse kit selection within the squad.

The new Titon game mode - Interesting idea, new game modes in FPS are fairly rare, usually death-match or conquest with some king of the hill and capture the flag... If it works and catches on it could be revolutionary...

MORE unlocks and custumizations... From what I have read there will be a TON more unlocks and not just weapons but skills too. One that was quoted was "stablizers" for the sniper that will reduce drift of the scope. I am not really sure how I feel about this. It sounds good but at the same time the more unlocks the greater the chance for unbalance and power to the lifeless kids that play 12 hours a day vs someone like me who usually plays for an hour or 2.

Each kit will get 2 primary type weapons... Nice that each kit should be more versitile and useful in different situations. If they can pull this off and still make all the kits useful and viable more power to them...

I'm probably going to move to a new game... either quake wars, front line: enemy territory or bf2142, cant decide... have to see which is best.

After all, my only stats goal is 90,000... otherwise the only thing keeping me playing bf2 is either friends (which I don't think I'll stick around for - they'll prolly move games too) or lack of a better game... and with 3 new ones to choose from (that I'm sure will suit my 24/seven liking) I'm sure that wonte be a problem

I just got battlefield 2 so I will probably hold off on getting BF2142 if I do get interested in it. But I would like to see more support for BF2 even when they release 2142. Like a new army for each side like the Israeli Defense Force joining the EU and US forces and then another nation or coalition joining the MEC and PLA (maybe a central American force) with new vehicles. Though I think more people find modern tactical shooters more interesting then futuristic shooter (but there are exceptions to every rule.)

I don't think I will buy another EA/DICE game after their constant patch tweaks and the mess they caused with 1.3 and constant server crashes. Quake Wars looks like it will be more fun anyway.

If BF2142 is to BF2 what BFV was to BF1942 there will be no demo, and you are already playing the beta!

I'm not going to be buying it, this has got nothing to do with my BF2 experience, it's juat that I prefer my warfare 20th centry style, bf2142 simply does not appeal to me, I think the only way that I would get the game is if FH2 or one of the other mods jumped ship, but somehow I don't really expect that to happen.
