    bunny hopping

I just played on a server where they said bunny hopping wasn't allowed. Everyone was doing it and they were kicking alot of players. 5/6 players got kicked.

The admin players all had ak101's and were getting seriously good k/d scores. Instead of bunny hopping they were zigg zagging like crazy mofo's'....running side to side very fast.

I said to them why is it you don't allow bunny hopping. They said you couldn't do it in a real war. But you couldn't exackly zig zag like that. Eventually i left because it was obvious they had geared the rules to give them an advantage.

You can't jump and shoot at the same time so bunny hopping should be allowed. Anyhow, i do not intend to go back to that server.

You think bunny hopping is a good thing?

No. It's the most retarded thing I've ever seen in my 25 years of living.

I never had a problem with it, but that is probably because my past gaming experiences with faster paced fps games like UT, AvP and Tactical Ops. In my own personal opinion, I feel people don't like it because they have a hard time coping with it, as in they have a hard time adjusting and beating someone that is doing it.

I never really was sold on the 'it's supposed to be semi-realistic' side of the arguement. I don't see it as that, I just see a game.

But that is just my general opinion and everyone has a different view on it.

Bunny hopping doesn't make people invincible.

It has nothing to do with realism. You can can't ask a commander to drop you a vehicle in real life.

Players don't like it because it's gives skilled players an advantage. Player on player, the player with lower ping and better gun and alittle more skill will win. Takes alot of the skill factore out of the game.

It's a game, like any other. Something will p*** you off and you'll have to find a way around it. I doubt the majority of gamers are war veterans that zig zagged germans, but no one bunnyhopped to glory either. It's part of the game, not war itself

                Re: bunny hopping

I like it when people bunnyhop. It generally makes it very easy to predict where they'll land, which makes it easy to hit them.

I prefer bunnyhopping to zigzagging, in people I'm trying to hit, because of that predictability. With an MG36, all you need do is hose up and down along their center-line, and you're assured of a quick kill.

Plus, since bunnyhopping is easily the funniest-looking tactic I've ever seen in BF2, it's good for some laughs at the poor guy's expense.

PS - my name has nothing to do with bunny hopping. I'm nowhere near coordinated enough to do it well. I just go prone and hope I'm shooting more accurately than the other guy.

                  Re: bunny hopping

                  i only bunnyhop when i goes a knifin....but i zig-zag like a maniac too...and i crouch when i strike....

when i have a gun, i usually go prone, or am crouching

bunnyhopping is predictable, and leaves you vulnerable, so i only do it when i have a knife, as im twice as vulnerable if i dont

It's the fact that it was so obvious what they were doing. They weren't bunny hopping but zigging which is exackly the same as bunny hopping but in the other direction. They had ak 101's which means unless you have a g3 or pkm your cannon fodder.

I only knife when it's silent and they haven't found you yet.
I only bunnyhop when they're really close, and then you get behind them. Then switch to knife :p they're still blasting and wondering where you are haha

bunny hopping isnt bad, ppl just dont know how to aim, and for me this is the only reason ppl complain about it and no one changes my mind.

ppl want us to wear a target in our forheads and walk veeery slowlly, and even then they will complain because we dont follow the bullets they shoot...

It does have to do with realism, thats why this game is so popular! it trys to imitate real life battles authentic weapons and vehicals .. i feel its not about skill to bunny hop, any one who spends time gaming can get the feel for jumping up and down to avoid fire who cant tap the space bar lol??????????? I would like to see how tired a real soldier would be if he reapetedly tried to jump up and down in full gear lol it has never happened and it makes a realistic game seem silly and videogame like ... I think jumping should have a energy bar like running you can do it once or twice but then have to wait a bit .That would seem more real to me... I like this game because it seems real at times on big screen in surround lol im hooked but, to see a bunch of guys just running and constantly hopping around it looks silly and takes away from the game .Skill has nothing to do with it ... but there are those who like it and I respect that, however im glad our servers DO NOT allow it ... and I will warn, and kick for it ... if some do not like it then there are lots of servers to accomodate them .

I really cant stand bunny hopping. It is the most unrealistic tactic that seen in BF2. There is very little skill in bunny hopping anyone can hit the space bar. Real skill is droping down and find cover, changing location, finding the right spot.

Yeah difinitely. Not really sure why people go so close with guns anyway. They're a distance killer. Have someone cover you before you run in!
