Max out view distance and geometries to see the furthest. Anymore and you would be hacking. Don't ask for for any more advantages than what's possible.

Geometries (labeled "Geometry" in the Video settings) will draw vehicles and objects a little bit farther away at high than at medium. You can read about the different video settings here (in particular Geometry).

About the darkness, if u want your game brighter set up a game profile in your video driver settings. I have a profile for BF2 that has all settings maxxed eccept AA that I force x2Qs and a custom color profile assosiated with it to enhance color and brightness, my ingame settings are all high eccept AA whitch is OFF (forced with video driver) my game runs 60-80 FPS and drops to 40 in big firefights when arttillary starts go'n off. res = 1280x960 on a 19" KDS ctr monitor vid driver ver 84.56 x64 NVidia on a EVGA 6800 gt 256 PCI-e.

i dont get why everyone complains about the fog. you act like its some bug that EA needs to fix...its part of the map, thats how its supposed to look and feel in that part of the world.

might as well remove the water from zatar wetlands :|:

It's obviously not about the look and feel. Without the fog everyone would be sniper or sit in Vodniks far away and clean the streets. It's about gameplay not about visuals.
