SF is far superior to vanilla and both booster packs in all respects except one - performance.

Infantry and vehicle combat is fast paced and chaotic, there is very little roaming (I loathe vanilla for this), and strategy actually comes into play (imagine that).

If you can get past the lower FPS, and deal with the helicopter pilot lag on Surge (which DICE still refuses to acknowledge is a problem, or they simply lack the motivation or mental capacity to fix), you'll like it.

ive got SF but iam on BF2 more . but love ghost town and warlord but cant get my self off karkand .on SF should be a karkand map i think

SF doesn't need Karkand. That's what they gave us Warlord for. And, IMO, it spanks Karkand stupid...

Better than? I don't know, but at least equal to. After patch 1.3, it is the only thing playable (I can't play vanilla without my comp freezing it seems...wierd).

I can only play wake and karkand so many times :p I play all the maps but still BF2 is a great game I've just played way to much. Is SF really that much better to spend 20bucks on?

The grappling hook and zip line add a vertical dimension to the game that is fun and a refreshing change from the vanilla maps. If you like Wake and Karkand, then you need to check out Mass Destruction and Warlord.

I love the additions that have been made to SF but the maps i think look a little rushed compared to battlefield 2 regular. I know it is a common complaint but you cannt use regular unlocks for special forces. If i use anti-tank i cant use my P90. This is well known but still it stops me saying that SF is better. I also find that the maps in SF need a more demand ing machine too. Most players cant afford that so SF misses out there too.

Well I'm really intrested in that 2nd unlock in normal BF2, I have the M95. So if I get staff sgt. in BF2 then get SF I can select the 2nd sniper unlock for me.

SF has a lot better maps than lets say on BF2 the never played Zatar Wetlands and Songhua Stalemate. SF is great because you can play at night and you get a variety of more guns.

different people have different opinions. i like it sometimes but other times its just laggy and all around crap.

i think of it that way:
bf2:textures and stuff that makes the game work
bf2sf:bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+bf2+ bf2+bf2+bf2=it's more than 14 times better!!!!
