That is true, and i for one will buy the two and play them both. ET:QW will be a good game.

However, they do not have the same gameplay or gamemode, each game will please diferent people, ET:QW is not going to kill bf2142 or vice versa (unless the games themselfs are flops).

Bf2142 population will decrease ofc, since it will spilt.

I will DL both ET:QW and 2142 demo if I like both games I will get them.
I think this is what 99% of us are going to do no matter what we say now.

If the maps in QW are originally designed for 32 people then how will it fit 64 players in it? And if it realy is supposed to be for 32 players imagine the lag and choppiness when it reaches 64.

They have done the same in RTCW and ET:wolf, the problem isnt the lag, its the game itself, it becomes a frag feast. Some people like it, some dont. I guess some mod can make it better for that amount of players.

Remember that the default weapon balance will be made for 32 players not more.

Ofc some frame rate issues will show up, but you can scale the video settings down. Lag in itself shouldnt be a problem if the game has a strong netcode.

Don't base other games performance expectations off of one of the worst coded, resource unfriendly games ever.

It will no doubt have bugs, every massive game has bugs, for instance Oblivion has a ton of bugs, its that big that the developers don't have the time to look back on them, with EA I have no idea how they manage to patch the game that causes more problems.

Im willing to give EA another chance to redeam themselves with 2142.

QW will have an ingame downloader for loading new maps and mods on the fly. BF2 fails at this cause of ranks

I noticed theres a Total QW site, that's where I'll be hanging out and I'll still drop by Total 2142 to laugh at everyone complaining OMFG EA/DICE still haven't fixed the red/blue tag bug, squad bug (I'll bet my left nut that these bugs are still in 2142) and every other bug still in the game. I have given them a year to fix this game if they can't fix it in a year then they never will!

Not only that no more expensive Ranked servers, all servers can be ranked and you don't have to pay up the ass for it. They won't crash anything like they do now either. The ranking system is only for that game so it should stop the lone wolf stat whores and hopefully be better teamwork orientated.

There are a lot of +'s for QW and not a lot for 2142.

I have more fun playing 32 player servers rather than 64 player servers in BF2 anyway. The BF2 maps aren't designed well enough for 64 players; 32 players is optimal IMO. Also, with 64 players in BF2 there are twice as many red name-tag bugs, more lag, etc, etc, etc. . .

My only wonder is about the reviving that's possible in a game like that.. respawn times on vehicles is important too.. the longer both of those factors are, the slower the pace of the overall game.

I dunno about you lot, but i like a balance between the two.. kinda like two LAV-25's doing drivebys on each other, or two lone snipers in that head-to-head style that is so intense yet so lame >.<

I just dont know about QW.. I'll get it, but whether i keep it is a different story..

I do occasionally play on servers bigger than 16v16 on Bf2 but i find the more people you have the less skill there is involved. The level just becomes a nade/claymore whore fest. A good map of 16v16 is not boring in the least bit so it all depends on how Splash Damage's maps are.

QW will be a brilliant game, you dont see people of that quality making a game only for it to suck, has anyone here played the roriginal ET? cos if you have then youll know that this game has a lot of potential and the gameplay is going to be amazing, far superior to anything Dice can come up with. I wouldnt care if QW was going to be 24 man only id still play it because the gameplay is objective based and crafted in such a way that teamplay is truly promoted and will get the job done.

and the fact they arent gonna get pushed to release six months early will have an effect, and have you seen their new megatexture system? your gonna see huge detailed maps in QW that wont take hours to load like in bf2 and wont utterly destroy your pc performance...

its gonna be a good few months for me tbh, ET: QW and then next year Crysis and Supreme Commander... and sure as hell i wont be buying 2142

and if your worrying about game balance then dont, buy the new issue of pc gamer and read some of the features of the game in the preview, dam im gonna love this game when it comes out

I agree:). In the preview in pc gamer the box entitled "SPAWN COCKTAIL" was wrong so just ignore it :).

well its gonna have the game done properly for one and the gameplay will be good i.e no musical flags. and maybe objectives for your squad to complete ?

I'm not worried about there being less player counts in Quake Wars because it seems by them making it more objective based there will be frontlines where both teams will be going at each other head on. The only map in bf2 that has a true front line is karkand at the beginning, but even still people flank around and get a flag and it splits up the fight.
