BF2 players moving to QW: Have you considered this?

I'll make this short and smiple:

BF2 players moving to QW from 64 player, 52 player, and 32 player maps might find that QW really wont be that fun because of the fact that it will have a maximum player on each server of 32. 16 vs 16 doesn't sound too much fun to me. What do you guys think about this? I've watched several video interviews with the developers about this and this is where I got the info.

I'll be buying QW anyways to see for myself how it goes as well as 2142. :)

QW is a different game. I think a game like that wont need 64 people for alot of action.(hopeing anyhow)

its gameplay that counts not how many people you can get on a server.

But you have to admit, it can be much more fun when things around you are constantly exploding, yes? yes? am i right? am i right? (Or not) But my concern is towards the player who usually plays on 64 player maps (large scale) sure the gameplay of QW can be fun but seriously, what about the random n00b who crashes his jet tk'ing 5 of his comrades? Think about the random NOOBS!

It looks just like 2142 to me, but not as good. I don't really want either.

              More players/Larger servers = More n00bies.

I noticed that on 64 player servers, the majority of players idiots xD. 32 player servers are bad enough in BF2 compared to 1942. Hopefully quakewars will be so much better than BF2 and won't offer as many gimmicks which target kiddies.

I've been waiting for quakewars for a long time. Until EA get back the fun factor which was in 1942, ill always look down on the latest Battlefield games.

Trust me there will be bugs in QW im certain of that.

I had a look at the trailer of the game......doesn't look anything special at all.

As for 2142 well.......I played Mechwarrior so the thought of some kinds of mechs has an appeal to me.

But I do love plain old BF2 and always will regardless of the problems other people have with it.

Simply put, your wrong. Servers will be able to have 64 if they wish. The maps however are GEARED towards 32 player games.

I think ET:QW is overrated myself, I think it will crash and burn, just like Quake 4,
people say "oh it will be less buggy than bf2"
how the f*ck would you know!, Have you played it???
I will DL both ET:QW and 2142 demo if I like both games I will get them.
Im willing to give EA another chance to redeam themselves with 2142.

Regardless of whether ET QW is any good it is at least some competition for EA/Dice, which can only be a good thing for the end user

The constant bugfest from patch to patch is starting to get more than annoying.

I for one am keeping an open mind for this game, until at least a demo is out

After the 1.30 patch, I'll definiately consider buying QW instead of 2142.

Re: BF2 players moving to QW: Have you considered this?

I belive ET:QW is beeing a bit overhyped due to how 'mad' some players are at EA and DICE.

Anyway, ET:QW game mode is like current ET:Wolf ( try it out if you want to check how it works )

Its an objective game mode, but not like BF2's. In ET you can not go for any flag at will, the map follows a 'story' logic, so in order to 'steal the gold' you need to 'blow up the gate'. The spawn point advances as the objective changes, thus most of 24-32 players will be focused on a very small area of a large map. Less players but still very action packed.

Think Karkhand USMC-spawn/1ยบ(Hotel?)-MEC-flag-like combat all the time.

Also note that while the maps are made for 24-32 players they are not capped and thus you can have 64 players servers.

                            Edit:

Small note: IIRC they stated that the game mode would be like ET:Wolf's in Gamespy's ET:QW E3 preview and in Gamespy's E3 interview video.
The game mode is also not as linear as i made it sound, but the point remains, only a small area of the map is used at one time.

As mentioned there isnt a cap on how many players you can have on a server. You also dont need to pay extra for a "ranked" servers unlike the current situation with EA/Dice.

ET:QW is not being made by the same people who made quake 4 its being made by splash Damage.

"people say "oh it will be less buggy than bf2"" how would we know? because we know how splash damage work, they were originally a mod team, they don't have restrictions put on them by id, if the game isn't ready they will not be releasing it.

ET:QW is also going to have a much better modding community, with a proper full set of tools most of which will be the same tools the developers are useing, not a bugging single editor that still hasn't moved out of beta yet.
