Its been a few weeks since I last posted and read all those forums, so please, tell me.

Is there any way to get bf2 to run on a 1440x900 native widescreen?

        Using:
        "D:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +modPath mods/pr +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1440 +szy 900

And the appropriate combinations I obtain:

              Hey all,
              First time poster.

I have BF2 running on my 55" tv at 1280x1024 with black bars on the side and its a blast to play with that big of a screen.

My question is: Can i get the same result on a 22" wide screen running bf2 at 1280x1024 (the native res on the 22 is somethingx1050)? would it give me the bars (which is what i want, i hate any kind of stretch), or would it stretch it to fill the monitor?

              any help is greatly appreciated!

It looks alright in widescreen, but the fact that it would take out so much of the top and bottom really impairs when it comes to air vehicles.

sry for stupid question but just not real smart when it comes to computers.

have widescreen, has auto adjust, i downlaoded drivers with digital, but using i believe analog cord, i know a definition term difference but unclear the effects of me installing digital and using analog and vice versa. my screen looks great, but my problem is im starting to lag and choppiness when a lot is happening. on my old screen i didnt have a problem 17" to 22 widescreen. i just need to fix the lag and choppiness. not sure if its a monitor issue or a graphics card issue and then how to fix it. i really appreciate all the help
                        thanks

                        heres what i am running:

                        P4 2.8Ghz
                        1.512 memory
                        geforce 7800 OC

i play on low settings on BF2 to get good gameplay, but I can play 2142 all on high, anybody have the same problem.

Worked like a champ for me. BF2 looks beautiful on my new Viewsonic 22" widescreen. :)

so my resolution is 1680x1050 even though in setting it says 12xx something?

Re: BF2 in widescreen, Guide Here!

OK I have been using BF2 is WideScreen long before it got popular...

What you seem to have mised is not just the game shortcut will need to be changed. As this does change the game res. which looks great. The on-screen map and text and such will be stretched a bit. To fix this do this...

To fix your FOV for widescreen mode:

Go into your 'Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Settings\' directory.
Open 'VideoDefault.con' (if you're using the default profile)
If you created a new one, you'll have to choose the proper video.con file)
Look for the line that reads 'renderer.fieldOfView 1'
                                Change it to 'renderer.fieldOfView 1.1'

This will make everything else on-screen fit to a more accurate aspect ratio.
