I've seen PB screens of people using a few hacks. Very unfortunate as I had the optimistic view that not too many hacks existed....stupid me.Comment

A favorite tactic of PB developers is to silent detect hacks over a period of time to get a consensus of what is being used and who is using it.Those using hacks are"silent"banned when caught.When enough data has been collected on the hack the bans are put in place.My only gripe about this process they use is the bans are not Hardware Bans.IMO,all cheaters should be hardware banned.Hand out enough of those over a period of time and the sites that distibute them would fail simply from a lack of members to keep it going.The thing you have to keep in mind is PB covers a lot of online games so it takes time to update for the latest hacks with any perticular game.The wheels of justice turn slowly,but they do turn.Comment

Red is right, thats why PB Bans usually come in bulk groups. MMORPG's do the same thing, "Blizzard announced today that 40,000 accounts were banned for exploiting" is not uncommon in the MMO world.
PB works the same way in many cases but 500 aim-bot hackers in BF2 isnt as big of a story as 40,000 accounts in WoW or EQ2.Comment

EA did try to push the copyright infringment part but to no joy.
Hacks are for the worst part are genrally in the public domain and those are more than likley to be picked up by PB.
Its the hacks that are made at home and used by only a few that have the greater chance of never been found by PB.
In all fairness there is never going to be a online game that is going to be hack proof as they all contain code and any hacker worth his salt will be able to bend the physics of the game.
All in all i just play the game okay i do have times when im like oh that guys hacking but not much latley.Comment

even if i wouldn't get banned for cheating... i wouldn't cheat i don't know wy people are... whats the fun of it . Okay Punkbuster can't really do anything, they can only ban by their database, what they download, test and add to their database, but what about people who make hacks and do not distribute them? they won't be caught period by Punkbuster.
It's not hacking into BF2, its more like moding it. Creating the hack with VB or C++ etc. So therefore its more like adding something on, revearse engineering is illegal but they aren't doing that. Therefore it isn't illegal, since most hacks are used with injectors, loaders or in the processes. Even basic hacks such as opengl hacks for older games such as Q3, Sof2 they can just be placed within the actual folders and just used in game by executing a command or whatever, therefore thats not hacking the actuall game is it?Comment

Face facts: EVERY online fps has aimbots some groups like myg** are just 11 years old who just ruin peoples game by using hacks exploiting game bugs getting in the way of vehicals.
Theres a select few who make hacks, usally very talented people, it does require a lot of coding skill. Pity though, such a waste to use such skill in a negative way.Comment

No, you can't shut down a site. they aren't doing anyting illegal, and since EA/DICE doesn't have control outside their virtual dominion, they can't do anything about it. Now, taking screenies of the hackers in-game can eliminate them in-game, but as for the site, EA can't hurt it. except with overpowering legal action.Comment

lol, you guys are so oblivious, yes there are aim bots, yes people pay over 150 cash for em, there are also arty and supply and commander hacks... dont believe anything you hear, but you should believe me.
EDIT... btw, game hacking is not illegal, so you cant shut them down.Comment
