BF2 was hardly a full game when it was released. Only a few maps, and the AI was coded only for the 16 player versions. Then we got one map in 1.03 and then had to pay £20 for an extremely buggy expansion. Now there are two extremely small booster packs which you need to pay more than a fiver each for. DICE should just give us another game, or part of another game, for free as a mod. It's only right.

...They charged for expansions for Unreal (countless ones in the series) and Quake 3 (Team Arean comes to mind, don't remember if Rocket Arena was free or not).

I forget, were Unreal and Quake III buggy peices of excrement that created more and more issues for its fanbase as successive patches came out?

Team Arena did poorly due to the fact that mods were already released that did the same and more. And I don't seem to remember Unreal having expansions, just newer versions based on newer engines. What I do remember is a plethora of free mods which were easy to code for.

I’ll give Epic kudos for offering a $10 mail in rebate for UT2004 if you owned UT2003, but even that had people moaning that it wasn’t enough.

I don’t at all expect BF2142 to be free or discounted, but you go ahead and hold onto that dream if it makes you feel better.

Agreed given EA's negligence to look after their customer base in favour of a better bottom line. They know nothing of goodwill. I just hope this will come back one day and bite them in the ass.

I guess the squad system, commander posistion, unlocks, stat tracking, teamwork additions, 12 new maps (13 with Wake), 3 different armies with different weapons, and an entirely new ****ing engine aren't enough to warrant a new game? With all the grief you people give DICE more making gameplay modifications instead of fixing bugs, why would you want them to waste time on a singleplayer mode no one plays?

Also those expansions- they're called EXPANSIONS.

Now please, if you don't want to buy 2142 thats fine, but telling everyone you know about how much you don't want to buy it or that the fact that an entirely newly developed game doesn't please you is a good reason for getting it for free is extremely ignorant and ungrateful.

I think it would be a Smart PR move for EA to give us 2142 for free. Splash Damage/ID Software gave out Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory for free(multiplayer version only) when they realised the Single Player portion of the game was not gonna be finished on time, or what ever the reason was pertaining to the single player version. Because of that generousity they vertually guaranteed High sales of their Next Wolfenstein release - RTCW 2. EA/Dice could learn a thin or two from Splash Damage/ID Software.

Yeah looks pretty good. I might give it a whirl even though I'm not a fan of RTSs.

Ive been perfectly fine without the POS EF, and i will be without AF. I am not becoming victim to EAs evil grasp to make as much money as they possibly can.

I bought EF (and i still regret it) and i am for sure not going to buy AF. I mean i only played EF for like an hour, and the same for SF, they wont get me a third time!
