      A good commander doesn't does..

"Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!, Enemy Infantry spotted!,"

That is my #1 Most annoying thing about stupid commanders who can't do their job today I came across some guy called.. What was it.. His clantag was FOG and his name begin with a F.. Ah w/e his rank was Lieutenant Colonel.. For a guy like that I expected some more teamplay or something maybe he was ****ed or something?

Re: What do you expect from a commander?

You don't want your commander to spot enemies for you??

Okay, sure, it can get annoying, but if he scans and sees where the hostiles are, isn't it a good idea for him to tell you? He can't arty them all, and he can only put up one UAV at a time. What about the rest of the guys he's seen? I like a commander to spot things for the team. A commander's eyes are one of his best weapons, why exactly should the team blunder about with them shut?

I like commanders who leave the fighting to the grunts, and who set orders and acknowledge requests (even if they turn them down), and keep UAVs in the air, and the supply crates and artillery falling. And not sending artillery on top of his own guys. Yes, I know you get plenty of warning, but when I've just neutralised a flag and my commander sends in the guns it gets annoying - you expect the other commander to do it, but not your own!

A commander who doen't play engineer and wastes supply boxes on assets while his teams armor desparately needs it. Its hard to win a tank battle( or cap a flag) when you have to jump out and repair if nobody else is around.

Also a commander that prefers to run around in the teams armor and do a **** poor job of it too.

            1) Dropping UAV in the hottest places.

            2) Dropping supplies for his armor/AT without being asked to.

            3) Dropping arty in correct situations trying his best to avoid dropping it on his teammates

            4) Spotting like CRAZY. It may be annoying, but it's better to know where people are. If a commander doesn't/hardly ever spots and just use's his UAV, I immediately click the mutiny button.
I really enjoy being commander, as I do all I can to support my team, and it is frustrating when people won't work with you and then wonder why they lost the round, TEAM WORK is thbe only way.
I try to be a good commander and in between kinning spawn campers I do all I can to help win the round, so if FURRY BIRD is commanding, I'm doing all I can to insure victory.

I do this when the guy is a threat to who ever is near by as I want you to be aware of what is out there trying to kill you and it can make a differance.

There is 1 rule i follow, and that is to NOT fight while commanding...

Defending assets and your location/flag is okey, but driving around in vehicles NOT looking at your commander screen, means your team will loose...

Besides from that, just command and follow up on requests and think a few steps ahead....

My expectations for a commander have become almost non exsistent.

now if he doesnt drop arty on me than i'm fine.

Re: What do you expect from a commander?

This is hilarious. I keep seeing people who say kick/ban the commander if they don't like what he is doing. These are the same people that when the UAV is going and a commander is screaming "there’s the bad guy, go get him!" let the guy walk up and knife them from behind.

I am tired of people acting like the commander can supplement a lack of skill by the guys on the ground. The best commander in the world won't win the round for you. You have to get off your butt and do something.

Here are some prime examples of what I see all the time as commander:
                  1. Sniper out in the middle of nowhere while the rest of his team is dead and they don't have a flag. (round lost)
                  2. Pilots flying around while the rest of the team is dead and they have no flags. (round lost)
                  3. Armor guys watching little red dots run right up on them and plant C4 even after the commander has spotted the bad guys AND dropped a UAV to show the idiot where they bad guy is.... over and over again.
                  4. All commander assets being blown up and not one Engineer on the whole team which consists of medics and snipers.
                  5. Cars being dropped for people and they run right by them to be killed 5 seconds later by one of those snipers out in the middle of nowhere.

My point is this. Do not blame the commander if you are to busy to pay attention to the HUD. To this day, I still watch my guys run into an area being artied. I see them look left when the red dot is to the right. I see them drive off in a tank when the supply box is being dropped right next to them. I see them run around in locked one man squads. I see them run around and not even participate by being in a squad.

Seriously guys, lay of the commander when you are either to stupid or to oblivious to use the information he supplies you with. I’m tired of people blaming the guy who is trying to help you. You whine and complain if the commander flies or hops in a tank, yet you lose all the flags and don’t listen to him. So guess what, the smart commanders’ hop in a vehicle and go take flags. They drop UAV’s for themselves and use the info to be efficient at the task at hand. They drop boxes when they need health or a wrench and all the medics are running around with paddles out trying to revive a sniper. They take flags and TRY to help the team hold some ground. What do they get for this selfless attempt to help the team win? Mutinied that’s what. Thanks you bunch of ingrates.

When the WCR was still a 3:0 WL Ratio, the reason most did not have it is because you could not command and win rounds. You have to have a lucid team actually working towards the win. Those of us who got the WCR the old-fashioned way look on it with great pride. Even after all the team stacking comments, we know we earned it, because let’s face it most of you were not concerned with the win. You just wanted the revive score.

Sorry for being so long winded, but someone had to say this to you whiney bastards.

Re: What do you expect from a commander?

As I see it. When being commander I expect the squads being under me, being independent and know what to do.

-They know what flag to go after and order their squad to attack that.
-They can always aquire UAV, arty, supplies and transport (vehicle drop) from me and I will give it to them.
-Those who just wait for orders do not think independent and therefor not fitted to be a SQL.

Its like saying: I want soldiers that think and not just sit around and holding their hands.

Good SQLs are those who goes after the rear flags. So mainrole of the commander is to give intelligence and support to the squad that operates behind the main battle line.

Thats how I see it and no I don't like commanders fighting unless they defend themself.

Constant UAV = Guys who don't pay attention to the red dots.

Telling us if an enemy is at a flag = Watching the flag be taken because no one responds to you telling them where the bad guy is.

Telling us the enemy is at our main = Watching the main be raped and everything blown up while trying to defend it ALONE because no one came to assist when you told them the bad guys were at the main.

The next two don't make sense to me.

Dont use the supply on yourself = Dropping it and watching everyone run away from it instead of using it so going back to dropping it on your assets because no one comes to repair them or help you.

Sadly, most of the players out there cannot use the intel a commander gives them. So once in a while someone good comes along and does use it. This does not change the fact that 75% of the time the commander is trying to render intel to people who pay no attention to it on ANY level. I wonder how many people don't even know what HUD stands for.

People want to bitch and whine about not doing well and blame it on anything but themselves. If you consider yourself a good player (not directed at anyone in particular) then not only should you use the HUD, but you should use your eyes, ears and some modicum of common sense to play. Otherwise you might as well be yelling into the abyss as no one will ever meet your expectations and be the magic commander that carries you around on his shoulders and does your job for you.
