I never said that the weapons were not part of Special Forces, however you do not have to actually own Special Forces to be able to unlock these weapons

Yes you do. unless you mean you cn give your account info to a total stranger so he can play 5 minutes on your accoutn on SF and you get the unlocks, well that still means someone had to have SF.

They are both a pain in the arse, all the games EA publish are buggy and seem to be lacking in testing

Actually, if you play Special Forces at an Internet Cafe it works the same way, soo I've heard, I bought the Expansion myself.
