I think the poor use of English more offensive then cursing. I can't even type the things I am referencing...r u gitting wut i say? 4 ppl c4nt talk like this? I would rather have a curse word here and there then that ^^^

But if I am a Squad leader, I will kick children that cuss too much on the mic. Personally I feel like typing in a curse words in squad chat should not be filtered. But when something is global, ya, the filter should be on.

Observation on life in BF2 - Apparently any curse word will become acceptable if you repace the S's with $, the U's with *, and E's with 3

Maybe we all could just replace these key on the keyboard, then everybody would be happy (I'm sure someone could find a way to change the bindings).

12 year olds typically don't participate in "real-war". Except for in 3rd world countries. I have a problem with excessive swearing, and the filter is great to correct that.

Faced with **** ************ ***, most people/kids just cannot glean satisfaction from their swearing attempts. And f$uck doesnt really cut it either, psychologically.

F***ing right man, i've heard quite a few racist remarks while playing battlefield, though one thing is if you see someone writing something racist you can pretty much guarantee that guy is a ****ing ****.

At the end of the day they're just words, after all **** is just a letter away from duck, and in twenty years or so we'll all laugh at the days when **** used to be offensive. Plus i get quite alot of satisfaction from these expletive stars, i think they make posts look quite funny (observe the post above mine).

I think most of us in here can agree that four letter words (as well as many other bad things) were part of everyday life during our K-12 days.

Exactly the reason for the language filter, it's to keep the kiddies out and let the adults play.

As with anything, profanity in moderation can be viewed as acceptable, but it takes far too much effort to type out profane words in chat. Why go that extra effort? Some people simply feel the need to shock, provoke or offend.

I have always been around profanity, yet I was also taught the proper useage. As colorful and descriptive as some of the swear words are, in the end they are the crutches of the intellectually impaired. If you have such a limited vocabulary or command of your native language that you must use profanity to express your thoughts, then you are sad.

Your "rights" end at the tip of your nose. My rights begin at the tip of my nose and at my property line. If I go to your house and get exposed to profanity and become offended, then I should get up and leave. If you come into my house and sling offesive language to and fro, you will be thrown out. Simple as that. So don't get bent when you are in someone else's house and get the boot for profanity.
