I still don't understand why people go to k/p servers...it's not like the expert knife and pistol are THAT hard :hmm: .

...I think you may find that it's not the badges, but the huge amount of points that the players get. No one is capping flags, so the rounds go on forever. When I was browsing for servers the other night, I saw one called "Pistol, Knife, Shock Paddles only" or something, and I could see the scores the players had - the top players had like 300-400 points!

It seems that more and more of them are showing up - are EA not doing anything about them anymore?

I don't see what the big deal about using a knife and pistols server.. is it really such a big deal that the whole server chooses to use knives and pistols to kill eachother? OMG PADDERS!! PADDERS!!

One of those players should come in here and call you guys padders for using assault rifles.

Pistols/knives servers make you learn how to use both weapons, something that you won't get much practice in on another server. Once you can use both, paired with your other weapons, you're that much more dangerous.

Who honestly cares how many points they get in a round?? OMG thats not fair. That guy got more points than me. He's a stat padder.

He's having fun playing his game, does the amount of points he gets in a round (often times less than you'd get in the same amount of time playing) effect you in anyway?

I have fun reporting a few K/P servers, but I am starting to feel like, hey we are paying for these servers, you give us crappy games, crappy patches, and then set some ROE. Now that alone is slightly annoying to me. And in that ROE, now you state that we cannot make our own rules for the servers that WE PAY ~$250 A MONTH FOR? I'll bet that there are some K/P servers out there that do not "pad" by capping for instance just the first flag on Strike at Knifeland. They actually cap flags like a normal game, except they only use pistols and knives as weapons. Are you going to reset them for not getting any more points than other players? Or for simply using pistols and knives only?

If it's points you're after just be commander with at least a few clan members on your team...almost a guaranteed win. My best round to date was commanding on warlord running and gunning (12 on 12) and I got what's listed in my sig (382). Granted that's after times 2 but I applied as commander half way through the round . Large amount of points isn't hard and if that is the only thing that keep these people coming back towards k/p servers then they are there for the wrong reason IMHO. The thrill of shooting someone with a pistol and owning their face when they shoot you with an ak-101 or a g3 and you come out on top or when you sneak around and stab someone that doesn't even know it...talk about a rush. IMO that is the most fun in the game aside from running people over in transport vehicles :laugh: .

I agree mate, I was just responding to someone's question regarding why people play on these servers, as the pistol and knife badges aren't that hard to get anymore. The only reason I can see is the points they can rack up.

...and running people over in transports? Hell yeah that's fun!
Accidently got my Vet Transport the other day playing Wake as I mowed down numerous enemy with my FAV...

I just thought of something. If your in command mode while your in a tow or aa you can get the badge for them. Has anyone ever pulled out their knife or pistol then artill. to see if you can get the badge that way?

Doesn't work that way much like the explosive badge the ones that say [killed] don't count. Knife and pistol kills must be kills with knife or pistol...ones that say [killed] do not count since it's not equipment specific.

i would like to have fun in those servers, but i dont think getting my stats reset would be fun..

i would hope someone would put up an unranked knife and pistol server for me, and ppl like me who dont want to be stat-padding losers (lets face it, stat padders are losers)

What is a stat-padder?

And, I thought that knife/pistol only server were illegal or something, so how can they be ranked?

And I have also heard something about getting your stats reset if you go to a knife/pistol only server. Please explain and help a noob with his noobititis.
