are you guys serious? You act like we owe you something. I love people who think they are doing the community a service and its really quite the opposite.

I run a UT2K4 clan and our members donate to run our 20 man UT server. I also pay out of my own pocket for 2 ventrillo servers and a website. We also have a branch for Guild Wars and WOW. We have our 80 members between these 3 games. I have tried several times to get a BF2 branch going with our internal members. I have even ran a public unranked server out of my own pocket for our members. Do to the major overflow of stupid people attracted to this game i was unsuccesful.

Never at anytime did i feel that anyone owed me anything or that i was superior to anyone. Thats what it takes to run a clan and run a public server. It's claimed server owners like yourself that completely ruin this community and any other gaming community. We don't owe you crap. If anything you owe the people who populate your server. Cause without them you would not have your high horse to sit and bark from.

Are you insane , I dont think he was talking to people like you good on you for doing what you do but capt is just ****ed coz this game now is not worth playing its just too much hard work to even get in a server and then when the servers are constantly crashing its just not right .

due to the popularity of this game it attracted a lot of people, but capt is shooting straight most of the time. i am one of those people who havent paid a penny to play on ranked servers, and i wouldnt pay to do so. that's why i didnt play WoW in the first place, i am a lil on the poor side. i am lucky to even be able to play this game but thank goodness for credit cards.

well in BF2 i am just a pubber trying to make rank like the rest of you. I can understand frustration at servers crashing. No reason to take it out on people who have no control over these problems. I am on the fence about whats causing the server crashing. I saw plenty of server crashing before 1.3 including the one i had, but far less with 1.3. Thats just my experience with it. I wonder if the majority of server crashes are linux or windows based servers.

I'm actually sickened by this. I thought this community was healther than this. To accuse anyone who doesn't moan and groan about any/everything that Dice does of being a "fanboi" is just flat out ignorant.

If you've got issues with something, state 'em. Express your opinions, 'cause that's what these forums are for. DO NOT crap all over anyone who happens to have opinions that differ from yours. Again, that's called being ignorant.

And as a note on 1.3... I still haven't had major issues. I've had 2 CTDs (one mystery, one my fault). Many of the people who have suffered serious issues have been able to resolve them (please refer to the support forums). Server crashing defiantly seems to be a big one, but I personally haven't witnessed a server crash in 1.3 yet. Maybe I'm just lucky...

What really blows me away, tho, is that people would be suprised that a version 1.X0 patch would have problems. EVERY first release of BF2 patches to date have had problems... and every damned time people start screaming about it meaning the death of BF2. Then a .X1 version comes out and everything settles down. Must we repeat history?

Well to get back to the point(s) that the orignal poster was trying to make before everyone got so Teed off. They were first we still have bugs in the game that have been around since the begining. Second we dont need any new features added we need the old bugs fixed. Third some of the people who play BF2 are jerks (they need a good beating from thier Daddy). Not much EA or Dice can do about that. I guess from reading the 5 pages of posts thats about it.
I will add that I agree with the orignal post, just once Id like to start BF2 and play about an hour and have zero problems or bugs. Just once.

I'm reading all these threads here, and the people in them that are saying:

"1.3 works fine for me, the patch was GREAT!!!"

"All the changes they made to the game are awesome!! Screw the clan members that play the game competitively!"


Let me clue you people in on something...the 1.3 patch sucks. Any one of you that defend the patch, and overlook the problems that were introduced with the server browser in 1.3, are just as I stated in the topic...you are nothing but 'Fan Boi's'. If you purchased ANY other product from a company, and 10 months down the road they 'patched' it and it was now broken, would you be ok with that? I don't think you would, so why do you defend EA/Dice on this collosal f*ck up??

I could care less about squad hopping and squad cycling being removed from the game. I really enjoyed those features, and I think squad cycling should remain in the game, but I can see how squad hopping is really not what was intended. Don't get me started on "Cartillery"....cuz that's just a horrific gameplay modification that should NEVER have been introduced. =\

As far as the broken patch, if you lived in Seattle WA, and you took your car in for repairs and everything got fixed except that now your windshield wipers don't work...would that be acceptable to you?? With the amount of rain in Seattle, do you think that's a big deal?? I do.

Shame on you, shame on you for saying how great this patch was, when it is CLEAR to everyone EXCEPT the 'Fan Boi's' how screwed up it is. Everytime a friend gets on Ventrilo and asks what server I'm on, I don't even know. I can't pull it up in game, I can't see the IP, so I can't have him join the EASY way. I have to go to a PLAYER RUN SITE like www.game-monitor.com or the like and find out the IP of the server I'm on to give to my friend. Or I have to do a netstat and see what IP I'm connected too. Is this really acceptable?? Should players really have to go to 3rd party sites just to find out where I'm playing??? Why is there no ingame buddy list?? Why is it so hard to play with my friends??? Hell, Tribes 1 had that feature working flawlessly 8 years ago...

I'm so tired of all you 'Fan Boi's' patting EA/Dice on the back for such a game breaking patch that SOOOOOO many people have had problems with. I just wish you would just be honest and say, "Man I really love BF2, but this patch needs to be addressed. I hope EA/Dice can work together to resolve the issues that were introduced."

Im sorry, i am not even gonna bother reading through the rest of the thread before replying to this aggravating post.

Mate, i hate the way things with this game has been handled. but i love the game. I have had next to no problems with this or any other patch either. What do you want me to do, make up some new problems just to stop myself saying the patch is fine by me????? Yes, i play competitively. Yes, my clan had to change tactics to be effective. but we adapted. normally im not so harsh as most people on here know, but get over it mate..
