i have the bf1942 anthology set but never got round to playing it online at the time cos my net connection was crap but dont know if i will install it,i guess i can play it only lan for when my mates are looking for something different to play

i havent played them, bf2 was my first, but believe me if i had the money to throw around i would buy them in a heartbeat. (bf2 was a gift lol)

been there done that...was a good game though. Played it for over 2 Years offline then with my son on LAN with Bots was quite a funny time

still i think 42 still ownes bf2 as the best multiplayer first person shooter

all they had to do was copy the game with bf2 graphics (dont like arty or uav)

before that it was soldier of fortune <remember that one!

BF1942 is $9.99 at best buy now (its in the cheap-o jewel case only section. Just load it up and d/l desert combat for free....Its great.

I think BF'42 stomps all over BF2. Back then you didn't have all this unlockables and ranking bullcrap. You just had the Gold, silver, and bronze medals at the end of the round. Though the tards were there in that game, people played more to have fun, not to get to the next rank. I miss those days... and my cable internet, which I have satellite internet now. Online gaming goes bye bye with that.... :cry: :cry: :cry:

Played once a couple years ago on my old computer and could bearly move it was that slow.. a Year on I got a new computer and BF2, so haven't really wanted to go back to 1942 since

When my computer broke down on me, i had to system restore, and i lost my key to BF2. So i decided, with my BF2 demo (patch 1 is fun XD), to download the demo to BF1942, since ive heard great things about it from these forums. It was tons of fun, even though i never got used to it. I would always just start a local server and try to do tricks with the zeros. I also found it funny how alike wake 07 and wake 1942 was. i know that wake 07 was a remake of 1942, but i couldn't help thinking of where i would hide in 07 when i was playing.

I played it before and have all of the expansion packs but the bad thing is that in multiplayer very few players still play it and the bot surrport sucks unless you have the best mods like DC, Forggoten Hope, and XwwII mod.
