Bah! I can't buy off steam, no pre-ordering.

I'll set up a tent outside the store though. Can't wait to get another taste of the HL story.

I rushed to the nearest EB after work today to get this game. It turns out it'll be arriving on June 6th....like wtf... Guess it serves me right going to an EB in Oakville (Sherway FTW...).

I'd pre-ordered and it was done loading by the time I got home from the airport last night. Only played a few minutes but looks great. I loved HL and HL2, so I'm somewhat biased.

But thats not the point what kind of ****ty strategy to market a game is this? they are selling it in episodes, I like to play a game that's full not in stages, and if they only last 6-7 hours and Valve will make 20 of them selling at £15/$20 or whatever a piece and you would waste your cash on it let me just say lmao. Think about it im not bashing you, I have played a completed HL2, HL1 as well the series are great, but I would not be prepared to pay money for episodes of games, its like buying a movie box set, you can buy it single, like for instance Die hard one then come back the next week and buy Die hard 2 then the 3rd, or you could save yourself a **** load of cash and buy the box set.

Seriously I like the HL series but ''SOME'' marketing that is, im surprised people are even buying it, I'd rather pay for BF2 expansion packs, which I have, cheaper, longetivity etc. HL2 episodes, once you complete it thats it, you know everything about the game and the story. For instance I bought the game BLACK, but returned it 4 days later because I completed it.

Sure $20 doesn't seem like much but if your buying all of the episodes then if there were say 20 episodes created at $20 each thats $400. Just to let me refresh your mind im not a troll, im not Anti-HL. As I said I like the series but this is extorsion, mind you after seeing what alot of you said in this topic, it doesn't seem such a bad idea for Valve afterall.

I don't disagree with you at all. Your points are completely valid. And I know from reading your posts that you're not a troll.

Here is why I bought it and will continue to buy them until I get bored of HL2 and find something else to play. Like you said, $20 is not much. I spend more in a week at Starbucks. Maybe that's being a sellout to the man, but I wouldn't do it if the product wasn't good.

I just got back to town last night and had about 10 minutes to check it out. Looks as great as HL2, but didn't get far enough to make a judgement on the new content. I expect it to be great, but too short for 20 bucks.

Yea one of my clanmates got it yesterday and beat it in 3 hours, but said its exelent so ill just have to wait and see.

Besides with all their games you have to use their ****TY ****ING PROGRAM Steam.

Is it just me finding it quite hard fighting the zombies in the low level life scene at the broken elevator. I have activated the elevator, but there's loads of zombies and I have low health. What do I do? :p

I've been playing hl2:ep1 im not done yet so don't spoil it, but as far as I see, valve turned this into a very sweet cookay.

Let me clear out something, I would pay 20$ for this episode rather than the $50 BF2 costs, if you haven't played episode 1, then you haven't realised how very well its made, the game is 100% worth the money.

Also, half life 3 could be released in 2 to 3 years, the developers cannot work for that long with just one big game, and the profits would easily wash away.
