Re: um lag problem pls help me

    Good idea.

As I said, if you are still having problems after your complete your reinstal, try bumping those settings down some. A cheep RAM savings is to use the English Only voice overs. IT cuts the RAM use for radio commands in half. I have a hunch that there might be an issue in the new voices. Maybe they weren't accounted for in the paging ranges. This is utter speculation that just occured to me and could be why I haven't seen any ill effects... I've had English only OVs since day one because of my tight system RAM.

    Hmm.
    I wonder...?

No even close, unless you are playing with everything turned down to minimum.

512 is what I have. (un)fortunatly, I have high end RAMBUS which preforms very well, but it would cost more to upgrade my RAM to a gig, than to buy a whole new system.

Double your RAM for sure. If you can swing it, for for a nice solid 2 gigs.

Not sure about your ping problem other than what others have said about things like trojans/spyware/adware, download adawareSE and run a scan.

Your 512meg is going to cause you some grief with BF2. To save some ram you can get rid of the intro movies as well, I think they consume something like 150Mb+ Here's a guide I wrote up ages ago for our guys to do that.

You can also do a trace route to the servers you are trying to join. This will show you if there are and hops along the way causing a problem. Here's how you do that. Click start, then run, then type command press enter. Then type tracert then after that put the ip of the server you are connecting to and getting high pings., then press enter. It will show the number of hops it takes to get to that server and if any are timing out which can cause you to have a high ping.
