I spent ages learning how to fly the choppers nice and low and fast - I practiced by flying under bridges and through the tunnels at the foot of the dam on Kubra (yes, even in a Blackhawk)... then I realised when I tried it online that you don't need to know how to fly low in a Blackhawk cuz they're just too slow. Up high is safer. The enemy can't shoot what they can't see. And if your guys are smart, when they bail over flags they'll use HALO to minimise the chances of being spotted and having the enemy figuring out there's a transport chopper sitting up nice and high...

Attack choppers need to stay low enough that they can kill stuff though, otherwise they're a bit of a waste.

by the way... depends on the map.. if there are jets stay high.... if no jets... fly low and try to get ground kills..

but if i see a whale while flying a jet... its toast.. period.. high or low...

Transports - 400M

Attack choppers - 100 - 150M, because you dumbass chopper pilots who are too busy flying to hear your gunner screaming about the chopper to your right putting a condom on so it doesn't hurt you as much always manage to turn into a tree when you finally look at your minimap.

Thats why i had to ask...

Im the kind of guy who flies under bridges, right over roof tops, and skip along the water. I always thought that.. stay low = nobody sees you, or can target you easily via a ground AA or something.. but for some reason .. it doesnt work like that in game.. lol.

I used to fly so low that when it was time to land.. id just ease up on the speed.. and i would land instantly. Yes there were times that id end up taking serious damage..lol.. but overall.. i thought it was just cool.

Ill guess ill try flying high now.. lol

I fly so low that it looks like you could splash your feet in the water - 3m or less when I'm flying the blackhawk on Wake Island. Makes it difficult for the J-10 to get easy kills, makes it hard for the tanks to land a shot with their main gun and the AA can't target you because you're too low for them. You get hit by machine gun fire but no worse than when the noobs fly at 100m up.
Every time I fly the blackhawk everyone in it makes it safely to the North Base flag (I skip the North Village because the whole Chinese team is always there)
The definition of "flying high" is like 300m up so that you can't see the ground. Most people think they're flying high at like 150m and get everyone in the chopper killed every time.

I use the best flight path possible to get the squad on target.

The most effective heli flights Ive seen where Mashtuur enemy choppers take the time to fly so high and spend the extra few minutes of boredom. The reward is being able to parachute out of the chopper directly over my default bases's air defense and silent land around me and knive me.

Very few people or groups are willing to spend 10 minutes for one successful base attack especially those that fly very high. But when they do it's very devastating.

Me, Ive flown sims for decades and prefer low. If you still see that tree below you, yer too high.
