Airplanes.. how are the pilots so accurate?

When i fly a plane.. the thing is going so fast i rarely have enough time to aim up a bombing run before im hitting the edge of the map and have to turn around. Then as i run around on the ground or drive a jeep at full speed... i got bombed or gunned down on the fly with 1 pass. I can understand if a pilot does like 4-5 fly bys and finally nails me.. but 1 pass?

How is that possible? I understand some players use a joystick and what not to fly but seriously... how in the world can players line up so percise that they can fly in at full blast and take me out? Sometimes, im the only target in that area ( ie spec ops or sniper ) and they come in and within a few seconds.. im toast.

I can understand choppers being accurate due to them being able to come in real slow but with a plane?

Can someone explain to me how they do it or if there is some sort of exploit/hack/program they use to get so percise??

Any info would be appreciated.

Yea. I've played infantry and TV gunner pretty much all along and I've gotten really good at doing those.

If I spent all my time in jets....which im trying to do now... I could be a pwner pilot.

So practice.

Yeah, some pilots are really good. Mostly because they probablly spend alot of time in planes and get good practice. I've noticed a signifigant difference in my flying and game play ever since I started playing regularly. So most likley they've spent a while flying and have learned how to aim precisly.

Well, a few reasons.

Firstly if they are experienced, then they probably know where you are hiding at any one flag point. They know where the tanks spawn, where the AA vehicles spawn, locations of AA turrets etc.

Secondly, they have an icon on their HUD when they are in bomber mode, if you're in a vehicle or AA turret. So they get a bead on you early. Maybe a UAV/commander is spotting you for them.

Thirdly, just luck. The guns and bombs are very powerful, they might just fancy dropping the bombs and/or strafing an area for some chance kills.

Okay first I am no expert on jets but have flown a few in the game and mange to take out tanks and other jets also. My advice would be to set up a multiplayer server of your own with jets on and just learn to target the standing vehicles this way you will learn to drop bombs. I learnt this way and not doing all that badly.

As for the seep learn to slow down but not too much as I have seen planes slow down and only to be taken out. Next little tip I would say is to use the C key this gives you a view on the bombing runs good when first starting out. But, its down to practise and practise. One other little tip I found was great fun when playing against the bots I think the map was Bocage Dog fight something like that. You have a chance to take out planes and choppers as they is no capture flags and the bots also help out in flying great to learn to fly and a great lesson to avoid those heat seeking missiles. I hope that I have been on help and may be someone has more advice

One sort of obvious tactic I use is to fly high. By flying high you have much more time to line up a shot, and as someone else previously said, the boxes on the HUD make identifying a target pretty easy. So if you have alot of time up in the air, you can get the right trajectory on the jeep or tank, swoop down, and blow them up..

For AA it's even more simple because it is a stationary thing. Once you know where the AA is located, you can plan out your path as to take the AA out with guns before being in range of the missles.

Exactly, any good pilot knows where all the AA are and takes em out, easy.

I think it's pretty easy, but i've (and others) been flying since bf1942. Plenty of practice. Trust me, it's MUCH easier now then how it used to be, *cough* locking on. But, you are going alot faster in bf2 (jets). Remember to watch AA, your back, land objects, and you'll pretty much be fine. Lock on, and shoot fast before he shoots the flares(?).

They'e probably pilots that just know the flow of the map, among other things.

Most maps have places where you are guaranteed a few kills on either a boming or strafing run, like the Beach area on Wake Island.

You can become a pretty good bomber after a few hours in a jet, it's one of those things you just get a feel for really. There are a lot of aircraft guides online that can help you.

That being said, there is nothing like hearing "enemy armor spotted", going "roger that", swooping in from above and destroying the tank in one pass .

If the planes would go 3 times faster, more like RL speed I would still nail you in one run, I think they go too slow, plenty of time to line up...

Just experiance. The more you fly the better you get. Just like walking, when you're born, you learn to walk, it's hard at first, but then it becomes apart of you - same with this, I know how to target, where to target, when to drop bombs, how the bombs will fall, how the cannon shoots, fiering at a target using canon depends on my position, am I turing left/right going up/down?

Yeh man! At first they used to be so fast for me! Now, I'm like, WTF man, I need something faster! This is booooooooooooring! So I just do crazy stuff to increas the speed, fly really low, do crazy manouvers around objects/mountains, makes it all so much more fun lol. Hate getting into a heli now, I'm like, **** why can't this crap go any faster...

It is all about practice

I myself am a crap pilot but i have been practising in an empty server(make my own local game) and have clean sweep as the only map and just practice bombing and shooting with the cannon

To practice missles you need a server with about 4 people or get to gether with a few friends

yea im a great pilot.... its really easy to get if you fly alot. ask xmetalguitaristx hes a great pilot
