    F35 vs. J10

Is the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter just vastle inferior to the Chengdu J-10 in the recent patch? Every time I engage the J-10 with a decent pilot, all he has to do is full throttle turn and my missiles go right past the plane. They can shake me off so easily as well and I am never in any situation able to shake them unless they are too close to me, in which case I would typically fly straight up and come back down and try to re-engage them. Whenever I attempt to full throttle turn I can never dodge a missile even after a volley of flares to give me time to accelerate. Flares also seem to do nothing most of the time.

Will using the afterburner be counter-productive for evasive maneuvers, however? Thats the only thing I can think of that I might be doing wrong, is amplifying my engines heat source by engaging the after burners when I am trying to evade missiles. Will this get me killed more than not?

No. Its just a terrible balance issue that DICE has yet to fix or is just ignoring.

Yea seriously... The JSF/F-35 is aimed to replace the F-18 in real life... So why the hell is the F-18 better than the F-35??? Same with J-10... The F-35 is a revolutionary fighter, no outside hardpoints, nothing for radar to pick up etc...

The fact that it's missiles miss is just retarded. How is it that the J-10's missiles would be sooo much better than the F-35 seeing how the US has top notch air-to-air weaponry. FIX THIS dice/EA. It's getting annoying. Evertime I get up in the F-35 to try and take down a carrier whoring J-10 I get shot out of the sky due to in-accurate missiles that never reach their target.

Not just recently, it's been an issue since people started getting owned by the J-10 while in the F-35. I predict 1.4 will be the "final fix" for everything, if that does not do it, then tough luck.
Could be that you are going up against really good pilots too, there are people that have been flying since day 1, that would not be an exploit, more a matter of being out-skilled overall.

before the AA was uped the J-10s were killable. they were always more maneuverable, but they didn't deflect missiles. They also could be hit... Even though the AA wasn't near as effective back then, a good pilot in the JSF could beat a J-10. A good pilot can still beat them, but before the AA was touched the J-10 wasn't no where near is hard to kill as it is now.

JSF is a prototype plane anyway. Its not released. I know because we got a guy whose in the air force in our clan.

What? The f-35 goes into service in 2009. What do you class as a prototype?

Also, the F-35 is by FAR the fastest plane in the game. Iv'e gotten it up to 3500 (what ever bf2 uses) which is more then twice the top speed of the j-10.

The F-35 seems to respond quicker when I move the joystick. Other than that it's pretty much useless

Is it confirmed that there will be a 1.4 yet?

Im one of those near day 1 pilots so I think I know what is and isnt balanced about the jets.

You dont get 100 kill death ratios without knowing a thing or two about jets.

Fact is, J10 outclasses every jet in the game (not sure about the Typhoon) easily. You could take on 5 F35 pilots and easily kill them 1 by 1 while you dodge each and every missile. With the outside chance a missile hits the J10, it might not even register a hit as it will hit some sort of shield and magically not cause damage.

                          Re: F35 vs. J10

Even if the joint strike fighter in reality is supposed to be one of the most technologically advanced aircraft of its time (its even supposed to replace the YF-22 Raptor), its probably a little unfair to compare it to its real life counterpart, especially since like someone said in a post above, that its just a prototype. Granted this game offers no accurate similation of anything that pertains to real life at all, there still obviously needs to be more balance in this plane. The ability to hover im sure is part of the reason why they sacrificed a little bit of its high speed manuverability, but it just doesnt seem like a very fair trade-off. Hovering can only be so useful, and your basically a free-kill if you draw too much attention to yourself while doing it.

[QUOTE=Manick](its even supposed to replace the YF-22 Raptor)

As far as I know this is totally false, the Raptor (again as far as I know hasn't been released either. There I find I find it unlikely that the JSF STOVL don't forget is going to replace a plane that will barely have its paint dried.

                            Got a source?

I wouldn't consider the JSF in its current stage a protoype, it apears their not making many more huge adjustments, oh apart from the US govt. instructing Lockhead-Martin to with holding the "technology transfer" from the UK, which is just dandy for us.

From what I understand the YF-22 had a ton of problems with its electronics engineering, and not only that, but its production cost was something around 130 million per plane. The F-35 less than half of that. I don't necessarily mean it will literally replace it, but I do believe as far as realistic production efficiency goes, the F-35 will be more popular. It IS however in fact a direct replacement for the F-16, and three different models are being developed for the airforce, navy, and marine corps. The YF-22 still remains to hold the title as our air superiority fighter, but financially, the plans made for this plane are looking worse and worse by each year.
