A more important lesson is to avoid firing at the cockpit, because likely the shot will pass right through.

When you shoot directly towards the side it will also pass thru sometimes

Against other attack helicopters? Well, that doesn't lend itself to a very short answer.

These days the solo-tving pilot is quite common, and so, there's a few more things you have to take into account as you're flyin' solo.

Obviously, at least for me, the first thing I care about is the aptitude of the other helicopter pilots on the other team. Then again, my concern for this is stipulated by the map as that's going to potentially change the number of helicopters and the type of helicopters you're flying with or against.

I doubt I could condense any tips for how to simply taking down an enemy helicopter, but I'm sure there's far better players than myself who could formulate a more useful reply than this one.

I guess my tip would be to not practice on locally created servers. Hah, I know that sounds a bit to the contrary, but you don't want to get used to the absence of lag that a local server guarantees. Finding an empty server, preferrably those that are in the "warmup" mode with a handful of people to practice on, would be ideal I think.

its hard for new players to practise using the tv missile becuase the pilots probably wouldnt let the gun again if they suck :*)

best way i found to practise was to find an empty server (Dragon Valley is best) and line up all the vehicles and then practise by switching seats to gunner seat then firing a week of that was all i needed

if you want to take it a step further you can practice without the hud, type render.drawhud0 i think in the console and it completely removes all the crosshairs so all you got is your judgement (use the force luke! :*) ) you'll become brilliant in no time (this especially helps on Dragon valley because that paticular sky is very very hard to see your crosshairs in anyway)

        thats how i practice anyway

I realize that, but if you read my post, i mentioned that this 'delay' has increased significantly for some reason. And i've tried many things, as I listed, to get rid of it, to no avail. Anyone know why this might be?

Without seeing it in action, I wouldn't be able to give you something better than "try to shoot earlier/farther to compensate for any lag".

This problem just popped up out of nowhere. I used to be able to shoot tv missiles without the delay, on mulitplayer servers. Just imagine that it takes a long time for the missile to actually go where you clicked. So basically I click on a certain spot, then after a long delay, the missile goes in the direction I clicked.

That sounds like a network issue to me. How is your ping? Have you verified the line quality? How are your results on speed/bandwidth tests?

you guys know how you have to click where you want it to go...
is there any other way to do it?
