    Re: Battlefield Boycott Day

This reminds me of the boycots the illegals did. Its not really helping the problem.

1-day boycots don't help unless its for like public transportation or something where hundreds of thousands of people will be affected. How will a bunch of empty servers help the cause?

I think what we're doing, putting pressure on EA/DICE to fix the problem, is better. If this becomes an epidemic where they don't try to fix the problem then we should consider withholding our purchase of future EA/DICE games or stop playing BF2 all together.

EA/DICE is a business, they really only listen to the ol' green back.

By not playing BF2 you're not hurting EA/DICE, you're hurting the server providers.

Really the only way is to talk with your pocket book, don't buy EA/DICE products if you think this is how they support their products (and yes I understand that server providers pay a monthy fee to EA/DICE).

          Re: Battlefield Boycott Day

Why not do it on Armored Fury's release? It would have much more of an effect than on June 3rd.

Personally, I only agree with 3 of those 4 points. I like the fact that they took out squad-hopping. And I don't see why you guys are whining about this. Just goes to show you guys don't want to exerce teamwork. And for that reason alone, I'm not boycotting, though the three other reasons are legitimate. The squad-hopping complaint is just plain childish. Learn how to adapt ffs.

          And after reading this also:
What BF2-BDAY is not supposed to be
BF2 B-Day is not supposed to be a simple "**** You" to the employees over at Dice and EA as you can read it throughout so many signatures and forums. This day is supposed to make clear that any change of the game is up to us - the people who keep the game with their tools, their mods, and their servers alive since Battlefield 1942 was released.
Sorry, but if it were up to you guys to decide changes, the game would be utter ****. Though I agree with the mod team communication. We need more of that, but it would be hard seeing as how there are so many mods.

                        obviously.

seriously though, been playing for awhile. Never had any problems and love the game. No boycott here.

It has been said a thousand times before, EA does not care, they already have your money.

It would make a hell of a lot more sense to put all that energy and time towards a boycott of AF.

I don't really care either way, I'm too busy with USI and PR.

Most people here don't get that. They hate EA, they hate their support and they hate how they make us pay for crap, yet they still buy the expansions. If they were smart they would think: "Gee, judging by previous knowledge of EA and patches, is AF going to be good at all? Maybe if i stop buying these things i won't feel like an idiot getting ripped off!"

60% of people here will probably wind up buying AF.

I am boycotting it, no way am i fallign for the hype.

you konw what you should do. If you own a ranked server, LOSE IT. Make em pay. EA makes money off of ranked servers.
