A majority of my awards have been accidental... There some awards have gone after. However most of the time I choose one or two kits and play for the fun watching only my next rank points, which seem to move slowly. I was wondering how many of you actually gun for most or all the awards?

90% of the awards and such come with time more than skill. I went for my explosive badge. I felt extremely silly. I can;t imagine that some people play JUST for that stuff. I heard a guy talking about how BF 2 is not exciting anymore because he has a bunch of gold medals and has msot ribbons. wow. -

I tried for most of mine... now I'm at the point where they all require time. I haven't played medic in teh past week because it's the only expert infantry badge I have, but IDK, I just love medic sooo much and it's hard to completely switch to Assault (which I have been playing - 72 hours). It just gets annoying... I'm probably going to stop doing that. If I command I will prolly command with a kit that needs time.Comment

There will always be those ppl that play for medals, ribbons and so on. But there are also those who play it to have fun.
Myself, when BF2 first came out I went for the medals
But after a year I rather play for fun. Even tough I play in ranked servers mostly. I still miss some ribbons and medals and badges. But I do not play to get those. When I get them I get them.

i play cause its hella fun a few times i have played for a badge but i prefer to win and dominate the other team so we can rape em hard i will follow the commanders orders even if it means a few less p;oints as long as it helps the team
i play for the win and thrill of victory i see peopple with same points as me but with like 5 times as many golds and such but with barely more or less wins than lossesComment

i play for the fun, the win, the comradery between friends and people ive never met before in my life. i once sat in the totalbf2 custom map server talking with an aussie at 4 in the morning just for the hell of it. this game is "hella fun!"
i did this poll a lil while back to see the ratio a lil better, but as some pointed out it didnt have enough choices for the different preferences out there. i didnt put the playing for ribbons,etc selection, but i figured that fell under rank and points, imo.Comment

I don't care for any of those silly awards. I've earned most of my awards just by playing the game without even trying for them. I earned my veteran knife badge or whatever it's called accidentally when I decided to go all out knifing people for the hell of it. I can't understand people who play BF2 just to get these stupid awards. What are you gonna do when you get all of them? Quit? If you like that kind of gameplay then you are probably better off playing pokemon or something. I have alot more fun accomplishing silly goals like this in single player games then I ever will in BF2. I suppose it's because the stats system isn't quite as meaningful as it could be.Comment

i play to get the awards i dont know why i try to play for fun but its like im not shooting for anything i remember my first badge (spec ops combat badge) came first and then i thought cool and award then at the end of that round i got a gold star so ive been shootin for the awards yet i dont care about them but theres a few i earned by accident like good conduct ribbon and stuff.Comment

I'll try and work towards on on occasion, just as a challenge. Some you really have to alter your normal style of play for, but I still try to contribute to the team effort while I do it.Comment

Well, when you have earned 500 hrs. from hard work and lots of nights staying up late, don't you think it would be worth going for a medal that you finallly halfway qualifiy for?!?Comment

I play for the kit awards, I play certain kits just to get the amount of hours. And will only play that kit till I get vet.
Some ribbons I got by acident, some I went for.
I went for awards like ground defence also.
Whenver I command, I sit in a vechile or tank to get those hours up.Comment

only a few badges have i actually gone out of my way to get...most of them just happend on their own. all my ribbions i just got from playing normally.
needless to say i dont have that many awards, but it doesnt mean much to me anyways.Comment
