I was going after every single one of the awards purposely, including the purple heart, but now the ones that I don't have are almost impossible for me to get so I only play for fun and I don't care about my score anymore. That's why I've been playing static sniper a lot lately, something that I definitely wouldn't do earlier. Lately I've been spending my time waiting for the perfect head shot .

Most of the time I go for the awards except hard ones. If I want the Expert Sniper, I would often go Sniper but each while I go to Anti-Tank or Spec-Ops or something

not really. there was once i time when i DID try to get every goddamn medal, then i saw the requirements (this was before the patches were even err...patched) then i just quit and played the game for fun

I puposely went for most of my badges and i think it was a good thing i mean back in bf 42 i pretty much always played sniper and so started the same way in bf2 but after i got my vet sniper i thought ill try and get basics on all the kits and then vet on all the kits and it introduced me into completely different types of gameplay so now i have my expert sniper and am aiming for expert spec ops and expert medic although cant really see me getting the expert explosives hell even the vet will be difficult

i got most of them not on purpose. However, I really like them and i do try for them like the explosive and the knife.

                  I Don't

                  HA HA HA HAH!
ive got over 900hrs+ and i still havent gotten the basic 7kill knife badge. there are several badges i cant get just because of this, and its not because i cant do it. running around with a knife in your hand instead of a rifle is just not meant to be for me.

i even made an account named My_Knife just so i could let my conscience deal with it. of course i went to karkand, and when i spawned into the MEC side we were getting pounded by the US tank and apc with crates all around them. we had two guys at'ing, and doing their best i guess. as a medic with a knife i wasnt much help so i used some grenades to destroy their crates. the at'ers managed to damage the tank pretty bad and the person hops out. i couldnt resist taking the enemies tank, and luckily i had left one crate off to the side where he couldnt see it. to make a long story short (as if), after getting several kills the commander made it a point to get their tank back with a jihad humvee. i spawn at the main on the 32 player map since we only had it and the trainyard by that time. guess what? our tank was just sitting there. i even gave it a second to see if anyone was spawning after it, or was gonna come running for it. but no one spawned, and then the trainyard fell. needless to say, i took the mec tank and managed to keep us from losing the main or being capped out. we managed to salvage our dignity with 32-0 loss, and i didnt get my knife badge. after that i was spent, and have never tried to pursue it again. my personality is such that i can only play to help the team, and running around trying to get the knife badge with your knife out is rediculous in my opinion.

another sad fact to this story is that once i had stolen their tank i made a squadleader position in case someone wanted to help me out. there were no other squads created, and there were over 25 players on my team. <------i was floored when i realised this team was not playing together.

sorry for the long post, but it's a true story and the account is there with proof of that night's battle. although we lost the round, i felt that i had done my team the best i could.

Re: Does everyone go for ribbons and badges?

i used to play so much to win and to get badges and to get medals and ribbons

now it doesnt matter anymore...i dont get anything for getting those badges.wooohooo i have expert ::insert whatever award here:: and guess what... so do 454236554 players out there.

it doesnt matter. not even your KDR or SPM or accuracy

i just play for fun now. i just want to reach the point where ive unlocked all of the weapons then i can really just be laid back.

today i played with a great commander and a great squad. its so fun playing with players that work as a team. its a totally different environment than tankwhores and spawn campers and jihading, though thats kinda fun sometimes.

I only want my basic pistol, knife, and kit badges. the rest i don't care about. I currently am only missing my basic engy, (and pistol/knife were both pre 1.3)
