Am I The Only One Who Likes 1.3?

Installed patch, 0 problems at all. No lag problems, no d/c problems, no performance hits.

Played 32P Mastuur, OCS, Fushe, Kubra, Oman, Karkand, Dragon Valley.

2-3 dedicated squads form per team, squad leader usually in armoured vehicle.

Lots of squads on both ends roaring up to attack in jeeps and buggies. Continual flow of jeeps with infantry instead of mushrooming attacking flags.

Assault kit is somewhat more palatable now if you want a weapon that kills the numerous jeeps while retaining an assault rifle.

Just give squad leaders some reward, reduce air dominance so that ground troops can make it to the flags more often, and I'm happy.

Maybe, but to counter that, the server browser now updates slowly, the favorite tab is borked, C4 chucking is back, joining a sqaud now means huffing it across the map to meet up with them, vehicle drops on carriers, and (purportedly) vechicle drops destroying artillery--just to name only a few things. <shrug>

Ive had no probs either....
Many gamers are asking why, why did they add the vehicle drop???
Well erm duh.. Its to compliment (keep whiners quiet) the squad hopping removed! Lets face it, squad hopping was an 'exploit' that was not intended in development, but everybody used it, got used to it, thought it was part of the game. It was an exploit just the same as bunnyhoppin, but you didnt moan cos it was an exploit you liked!!!
Vehicle drop is now there so a sqaud leader can spawn, request jeep, and race accross map to the heart of the action in seconds and squad members spawm on him.

The two servers I play on crash constantly, I've even tried random pubs, (SF, EF, etc) and they crash a ****load too.

It's really depressing and seems like I cant play for an hour without the server crashing. Hope they fix this

Yep its the server, nothing to do with my PC
One word to anyone with CTD probs......... 'MSCONFIG'..... use it and control what is actually going on with your rig

Come on, C4 chucking now is not half of what it was back those days.
I got a lot kills with it (and also the pre-1.2 expert explosives) and I can tell that it's way harder to do it, and also the damage radius itself is like 60-70 of the older C4.

Not that bad.

I'll trade you. I can't get a full single game. The FPS drops to 30 or so, after being on or above 70 for the first 10 minutes. And the second "stat" that goes with the FPS (ie. 68/10)...well, that goes up to about 27 or so and my distortion goes way up as though arty is constantly raining down everywhere even though it isn't.

Does anyone know what that second stat is? I turned on drawfps in the console, but I never learned that that second number means. All I know is that the higher it is, the worse my game feels.

i like it and have had zero problems. Have played on several 1.3 servers with no server crash. I like the vehicle drop although i think it is lame if the commander uses it to kill snipers. Sucks asking for a vehicle drop only to have to wait cause the commander is busy trying to get a measly kill with a vehicle. Just point the sniper out and people will gladly go kill him.

The vehicle drop has saved me from death a few times. Roll up on a flag in an APC and get shot with AT missles from 2 sides. Pop the smoke quickly and bail out. Retreat to safe distance and call for a vehicle drop. Hop in and attack another flag or go get some people and come back. Makes what could have been death into adding some more points or kills to a kill streak. :)

yea i was playing yesterday on a small map with some of my clan mates and i got seperated from my squad to catch a base/spawn point whatever you like to call it. and while the bar was going down, the enemy commander vehicle dropped a buggy next to the flag and it would not let me neutralise it, i got in the buggy and drove it away from the flag, out of range and i was able to capture the flag,

is that a bad thing or a good thing?
