im getting really ****ed off... i downloaded the full 1.3 patch of about 10 different sites, but sumthing went wrong while i was downloading them,so i downloaded it of the ea site, it downloaded fine and i installed it but when i try to join a server is sais that my game isnt up to date. anyone know how to fix this thing??????

dude i feel your pain.this has happened to me with the 1.3 patch and almost all the other patches.i can update my game to v1.02 and then every patch ii try after that something goes wrong....its really ****ing off

I also cannot patch the game. I just recently bought both BF2 and SF and i tried to get them to patch but it will not. Here is what I have tried:
1. Full version 1.3 patch from filefront, gamershell, ea games, and fileshack i think
2. Full version 1.22 patch then incremental patch to 1.3
3. I tried the 1.3 and copy paste the temp folder and run in cmd mode ( no patch.exe but there was a setup.exe that just started the normal patch process again
4. Verified the install directory in Registry with no \
5. Manual uninstall of game with taking info out of registry
6. Tried to install patch in safe mode

System is a 3700 amd, gforce 6800 gs, asus A8N SLI board, 2gig of ram etc

Could someone post the things they did to get the patch to work and where they downloaded that patch. Also is there anything else that may work???

Take all the memory out of the machine except 1 stick. Install the patch. It's the only thing that worked for me.

Craziest thing I've ever heard of.

That being said, myself and 2 buddies:

1) P4 3.0 w/ 6800 GT
2) 3500+ w/ XT1900XTX
3) 3800+ w/ 7800GT

All get CTD.. all the time. Game is unplayable.

Thanks I will try that when i get home today.

Another problem came up last night, 1.3 patch full from EA,Filefront, and Branzone all have fatal errors with setup.exe and shuts down before even the language screen. The error report says something is wrong with setup.dll.
Would this be an issue with the patch or something wrong with the installer on my computer.

Finally done it. Had to reinstall windows tonight because of viruses, bastards (They cut my internet speed to -2kbs so basically couldn't do anything about them like downloading anti viruses).. And now just reinstalling bf2 for the 100th time (first in a while). And it says it can not locate the Battlefield 2 support code, FROM THE DISC. how do I possibly fix that>??

I have a problem too. I try to install the patch and it gets past language selection and prepares the install sheild then a window pops up and says "cant find install folder for Battlefield 2(TM)." wtf? bf2 is sintalled and runs just fine. I tried dling the incremental patches and the full patches thinking maybe one of the patches fixed that but they all do the same thing. Does anyone have an idea of what to do?
