Id say if you play spec ops the G36C is a must have as its the go to gun if im spec ops accurate and good damage. The Scar L is fine but the G36C is better.

The G36E is the best of the medic guns in most situtations but if u do get up close it doesnt have full auto so some people favour the L85, however it does have single shot and 3 shot burst and it only needs 4-5 hits to kill a person depending if they have armour or not.

As for anti tank the DAO 12 is good for close combat but the P 90 is just a waste id use the basic weapons ahead of that and AT is my most played kit

I tend to find the PKM and MG36 are both good but the PKM for me is better at a distance and the MG36 is good close in, both are good guns but you dont need them both one will do until you have more unlocks.

Id go for the G38E and a support weapon.
But if you play Spec ops a lot G36C

Anyone notice how we say the G36C and E is amazing yet the difference really is that by picking one you get an ubar kit with heals and revives and with the other kit you get C4 youll barely use effectively..without dieing..no armor and a headache.

Having such a great gun and such bonuses only goes to show hwo god like the 36E makes the medic class.

ok guys, ive taken in what youve all said, and have decided on the PKM and the G36E. i went to the weapon selct screen, chose the pkm, but it dosnt show the G36E, does this mean i have to unlock the L85A1 to get to it, or is there a way around?

Yeah, the G36E is a 2nd Tier unlock, and it's only available after you get the 1st Tier unlock, i.e., the L85A1.

Look at the kits you play most, rank them for most played, most fun. Then go from there, I used to play assault all the time, so I unlocked that first, then medic, it's all your style of play.

If you used one unlock on the PKM and dont want the 1st tier medic gun go for the G36C for sure, but if you would like to have a different medic gun the L85 is a nice weapon and in the last patch it was made better ( increased damage) so just go for which kit you use most Spec Ops or Medic

Better questions that needs to be asked is do you have SF because if you dont you cant get G36E anyway. From your points it wont be too long before ur next unlocks so then is a good time to get the G36E

choose ur favourite kits, then just remember that u must get the 1st unlocks b4 the next level; personally, i've suddenly come to like the L85A1 for medic, u've got the scope, if u tap u can get single shot, and its damage has been increased... i've been able to headshot guys on the run w/ this puppy, and i revive, heal, and can go into heavy combat w/ a fully auto gun

I'm not sure why is it doing that, but anyway you are better off with the L85A1 because as I said earlier, its' accuracy is similar to the G36E when firing bursts in long range, and you will like the full auto better in short range duels. If you want something from the G36 family, get the G36C, that is if you like playing SpecOps. It's got the best accuracy among all.

Yeha, You need to unlock first tier to get second tier unlocks...

I tend to stay away from support class now, my PKM can't hit ****. I fire it one shot at a time, in bursts and full auto and it just will not hit. I could kill guys from miles before, it's probably just me, but anyway.
I wouldn't get the Scar-L, i never use it and it's not that great, while we're on this topic guys i've got 4 unlocks left; mp7, l9 sniper, p90 and mg36. I heard they boosted the p90, i have no preference to the class.

Get the G36E (Uber-weapon of bf2: very precise at far-distance shots plus good abilities in close combat, nearly unbeatable in mid-range)

PKM also pwnz (it's a monster in mid-close-range, use single shots in far-distance to hit targets nearly like a sniper-rifle).

but that's only my oppinion... had a lot of fun at the week-end with DAO-12

I can't comment on the G36E or the P-90 as I don't have the EF pack, but I can tell you what I have used myself.

Personally I much prefer the M24 support gun over PKM. I find that it is more effective in bursts. I have had some great moments using the PKM though but they seem few and far between.

The L-85 is a great weapon but for some reason I am now finding that I prefer the original M-16 medic weapon over it now. I have gotten used to the 3 round burst fire and can pretty much run and gun with it at close range. As far as long range goes, I love the accuracy and power the M-16 has (although I do like the AK that the MEC medic gets slightly more) The L-85 was my first unlock. Pretty good choice, but if were to re-pick I wouldn't chose it as I have found that the M-16 is a better weapon.

DOA-12 is awesome. You could say it's pretty much a guaranteed kill at close range but leaves you wide open once you've unloaded unless of course you've mastered the pistol switch (CS habit)

As for the G36c, well let me tell you, I think this is the best unlock I have played with. It's absolutely deadly at every range and has hardly any discrepancy so you can unload whenever and wherever you want, although i do switch to semi quite a lot coz it just feels more pro

The only two I don't have are the G20 and the Jackhammer. Not sure which I would prefer here. I might go with the Jackhammer as isn't a weapon of war it's a weapon of murder :evil:

It just goes to show that it really does come down to personal choice.

Just to clear something up for any future BF2 newcomers reading this thread, to get the extra unlockable weapons, you just need the SF expansion pack. EF or any of the other booster packs is not required. :)

I got revived after being killed as a medic by an Assault guy. I ended up with his new assault weapon. Very impressive. Love the scope.
