It honestly depends on what kit you tend to play by default. We all switch to specific kits given the situation, but in general, what kit do you play by default?

But anyway, in general, the G36C (SpecOps) and G36E (Medic) are my favorite two general purpose guns. Reason: In single-shot mode, they are almost as good as a sniper rifle when picking off players from a long distance.

PKM is good, especially now after the 1.21 patch, though they did nerfed it back down a little in 1.22; but it's still deadly accurate I think.

The DAO-12 is great if you play AT a lot, but the ungodly long reload time often gets you killed. :p

I'll let others comment on the other guns. :)

I have all the unlock, and I'll help you by reducing your choice by 50%:

1)DAO-12 much better than mp5 or p90

2)L85A1 I like it better than G36E because of the full auto(more usefull in close combat), and still good accuraty shooting bursts in long range

3)G36C the most accurate spec. ops. rifle

4)PKM decent accuracy, strong (45 damage) punch

Which 2 out of 4 you go with depends on which class you play more.

I'd probably go with the L85 because it's pretty accurate in a couple short round bursts and it's full auto. If you have SF then that would give you another unlock and I would unlock the g36c or pkm because of their accuracy/stopping power.

Now see? I never could stand the L85A1, especially on full-auto. I would strongly not recommend that gun. Does that mean govedob and ken are giving you bad recommendations? Absolutely not!

All the guns in the game have good and bad attributes, so as all the other "Which unlock should I pick?" threads have proven, there is no #1 recommendation as it really depends on the player as to which gun will yield the best results.

The L85 on full auto at distances SUCKS...if you use single shot or 2-3 round bursts that gun is deadly. I couldn't stand it at first but after some finessing it turned out damn nice. Like all guns/unlocks in the game you have to learn it's sweet spot. Like most guns in the game it gets more unaccurate the more rounds that go through in a single burst. PKM is deadly with a 3 round burst as are most other guns except the g3...that thing is just nasty

Unlocks and how you use them are totally dependant on your style of game play.

P-90.. out of all these guns this should be your last pick really, unless you play AT and desire it over using the shotty (DAO-12)..
DAO-12..Great addition to the AT class..deadly close..but unless you play AT more then the others it can wait.
L85A1..Ok gun, G36E is waaaaay better for Med. class.
G36E..Surperb Gun, by far on of the best guns in game..if you play medic, you need this gun..tho it is burst, not fully auto..so people dont like that.
G36C..very similiar to the 36E..best Spec Ops gun due to it having amazing accuracy. It is pretty much the G36E with full auto and less dmg, bit better accuracy.
Scar L..Ok gun, just like the Med. Unlock (L85A1) this should be throw away pick, youll be happier with the 36C
PKM..Amazing gun, best Support weapon..powerful and accurate if you can fire it right.
MG36..Just as the P-90, L85, and Scar L this gun should be a throw away unlock

Now it really comes down to you..
You play medic, you should want the 36E..unless you hate burst..then go L85 if you desire a fully auto.
Spec Ops pick up the 36C, Support PKM..AT is your pick between a shotty or a low powered sub machine with incredible rate of fire (fast and weak)

Now in order of godlyness..
G36E, PKM, G36C, DAO..after that its what you might actually use without those.

The G36E medic upgrade is one of, if not, THE most accurate gun in the game. It's a great gun at picking off enemy soldiers who dont replenish their health bars.

The P90 post 1.3 is a great gun as well. The rate of fire is now as fast as the speed of sound. This is also a great gun at picking off enemy soldiers who dont replenish their health bars.

I totally agree that G36E is more accurate than L85, but the reason I prefer the L85 it still has a decent accuracy with the scope, and for close combat I definitely like the full auto better. When I'm shooting somebody far away I usually shoot bursts with any gun, including the L85, but in close combat as I said I usually get killed more with the G36E due to the burst only. It's basicaly matter of getting use to it, and personal preference which gun is better for you.
Anyway, I strongly recommned unlocking the g36c over the scar-l, and dao over the p90.

DAO-12 - Pretty good at close range, I don't really play much Anti-Tank though so I can't give a full spec on it

I know lol, I don't have a 100 hours in any kit yet, but I play a variety. Assault 48 h, Engineer 50 h, Medic 31 h, Spec-Ops 72 h, Sniper 62 h. Support is at 22 h and Anti-Tank 17 h. Most of my times are close binded.

ok guys, ive taken in what youve all said, and have decided on the PKM and the G36E. i went to the weapon selct screen, chose the pkm, but it dosnt show the G36E, does this mean i have to unlock the L85A1 to get to it, or is there a way around?

SCAR-L rocks, then I'd go for the PKM. IMHO though F2000 should be next if you havent already got it

I'm not sure why is it doing that, but anyway you are better off with the L85A1 because as I said earlier, its' accuracy is similar to the G36E when firing bursts in long range, and you will like the full auto better in short range duels. If you want something from the G36 family, get the G36C, that is if you like playing SpecOps. It's got the best accuracy among all.
