I have been dropping them not as transport but as fixed MG points. the alley in the hotel on Karkand facing the US spawn. Great addition. :)

Tried it in singleplayer, it is very easy to do, it works with DPV's aswell. It's only a matter of time before everyone knows about it, everyone will be doing it.

Yeh, I think you have a good point DP, with only squad leaders requesting it, a lot of the mischief would be impossible.

Does this also destroy the UAV trailer and SatScan dish or does this only work for the arty cannons? And if it's powerful enough to insta-death an arty cannon wouldn't it be powerful enough to blow up a tank if it landed square on it? I haven't played 1.3 yet so I haven't been able to test this.

Edit: And yeah, even without having played it I'd agree with the sentiment that the SL-request-only feature would be a good idea. People had to have known that there would be exploits like this when they heard you could rain vehicles from the heavens at any point on the battlefield.

              1. Vodiks are the easiest to do it with (9 pixels), while American Buggies are the hardest (1 pixel).
              2. Dropping on UAV/Scanner will just slide it off or park it on top of the UAV and do a little damage, but not destroy it.

The 'fix' to cartillery would be:
              1. Add a +/- 5 meter variance to the drop
              2. Only allow them to be dropped where Elevation == 0 (no more roof tops or on carriers (greater than water level, or the top of artillery - the top is off the ground and thus Elevation > 0)

Those two changes fix 95% of the issues. Can you still drop them on runways, yes, but you'll drop them 5m off in a random direction from whereever you clicked.

Would you still be able to drop them on artillery? Yes, but you would only hit 1/360 instead of everytime.

I can take out the enemy artillery in 3-4 Cartillery rounds, faster than he can repair with supply crates.

DO NOT, I stress, DO NOT make it so vehicles MUST be requested by Squadleaders. I don't think it would be necessarily to make that restriction because of the +/- 5 meter variance in the drop location (no more taking out snipers on rooftops).

there is no need to include a variance in the drop .. it simply needs to ONLY dropped in certain points assigned to such .. something like a spawn point. This way a squad leader can call for the drop when the squad is reaching a "drop zone" .. then they proceed

That would definiately be another solution. Just put an X or something on the map and make it 'clickable' like a spawn point I guess?
