This is definently the most intense and true thread on this whole forum...

Typical of EADice. They deliberately take out mod support, ABR, and now unlocks from freakin UNranked servers because they think people "abuse" the fact that you can play with guns you haven't earned in real servers?

That small, maybe 1% of people who did that, compared to the rest of the 99% of people, which include clans, communities and squads, which enjoy using unlocks the right way.

Of course they ruined it for the vast majority, as they always have done. They are trying to kill this game to get us to go to 2142.

I hope Demize comes and reads this thread, and sees what an idiot he made himself look like with that lame ass response.

Ok, the rumor mill has run too long on this. First of all, EA doesn't make money from Ranked servers. The Ranked Server providers make the money, and in return they provide a limited number of servers to EA. EA spends money to keep things like the stats system going.

Second, the unlocks are disabled, because of abuses within the community of the alternative ranking systems, which would allow anyone to use all unlocks when they had not earned them. This kind of abuse cheapens the experience for those players (including myself) who have played and earned our unlocks the right way.

And to think, I was starting to get a good feeling about EA/DICE with the rumours about the next patch. Now they have to go and say this? Lamest Excuse Ever.

I honestly hope you don't feel this way. It would be nice if you were just a nice little puppet through which EA/DiCE speaks through. But I'm getting a bad vibe that you actually do believe this crap you are spouting.

I doubt incredibly that EA is making no profit out of this. Why the hell would they waste their own money? From what we've seen, they're one of the most profit-driven publishers in the industry. All alternate ranking systems like ABR did was prove that you could have had a ranking system without any kind of profit, besides the costs of the servers themselves. You, and the other greedy ****-eaters at EA saw this as an infringement on your profits. After all, if people were able to be ranked without forking over cash to EA, who was going to pay for the executive's new yacht? So they forced the people at DiCE to get rid of it, and the people at DiCE, stretched thin with deadlines and other corporate crap handed to them, had to go for the laziest path possible to get rid of unlocks in unranked servers: just getting rid of all of them.

You could have found an easier solution. You could have still allowed people to bring in their unlocks from ranked servers onto unranked servers, but obviously you did not do this.

One last comment, Demize: You might as well get rid of that DiCE avatar and throw an EA one on top of it lickety-split. Because even if you have an office at DiCE and work there, through your comments it seems like you're more of an EA windbag. The people at EA know that the community respects DiCE more than they respect EA, so they told you to slap on a DiCE avatar and attempt to make us see things "their way". It just isn't working, Demize, it just isn't.

how is that effecting people negatively? It's a good thing that people can try the unlocks, to see what they want to unlock for Ranked use. That way, they don't choose an unlock they may not like, and be happier.

And competition. Not allowing unlocks in unranked mode really screwed many teams on ladders/leagues where the unlocks was the difference between other ladders/leagues. They had to shut down those competitions. How is that better?

I was responding with my own personal opinons of the issue, my appologies if it was taken as the official DICE stance on the issue. I was not involved in the decision to limit the use of unlocks in unranked servers, but I will be sure to point out this feedback to those who were.

I attempt to post on these forums in ways which explain the possible goals of design decisions and changes, however responses like have been posted on this thread make me wonder why I take time out of my own day (no, I don't get paid to post here, I'm doing this on my own time) to try and help out the community.

I've asked to have this thread locked, as will only become an EA/DICE bashing thread.
