    Touche....

Where was I wrong salad? I didn't make a statement regarding kills counting towards class / vehicle, only trying to help someone who thinks his active commanding is really helping his team and/or his score.

The problem is that some guys think they have exceptional wisedom, so they can make arbritray statements and expect people to believe them.

        Re: Commander Kills Count!

The one minor difference I'd argue is that the calculation you gave is done each time a team point is earned. Somebody kills an enemy for 2 pts with 10 team mates on the roster, Commander is chipped 2/10ths of a point. Later in the round three more people join the team, each kill is worth 2/13ths of a point. By nibbling up Commander points instantaneously, the game both accounts for changes in team size over time and makes sure the Commander is only getting those points for the duration he is actually a Commander. [ie: You dont get the full 2x if you apply for Commander in the last 2 min of a round].

Note: Each time you drop Arty, repair your assets or cap flags as a Commander - you're taking away potential Commander points by not having your team earn those points and you getting your slice of it.

Is this enough proof for y'all??

I'd call that settling the question.

I won my Expert Engy, Sniper and Medic badges by playing Commander getting a few kills with my personal weapon and boatloads of kills with the arty

Commander kills with arty DO go towards your overall kill count, but not to your in-game kill count. Thus, you cannot earn class combat badges with arty, or anything requiring a certain amount of kills in game.

And regarding whoever it was that said they got the AA badge, that's not possible. Whether or not a kill was made with AA is not determined by whether or not you're in an AA when the kill was made, but rather what weapon was used to make the kill.

BTW If I get arty kills while holding AT Mine do they count as explosive kills for my ordinance badge?

EDIT: Helps when i put the correct screenie!

In the other hand, there is 0.1% of chance of some engineer repair it himself.
I immediately drop a supply box whenever an asset is destroyed and the SpecOps guy is not there anymore.

No, it doesn't. Play some Karkand as Sniper and you'll get it pretty fast
I got mine pre 1.2 with the infamous C4-Chucking... Ah, good days

                  Re: Commander Kills Count!

Apparently the coding for detecting certain kills was slightly modified in the 1.21 hotfix patch, due to a discovered exploit in 1.2. I was not aware of this, and assumed it remained unchanged. Apologies for the mistake.

However, regarding commander score, it is NOT the average of your team's score. This is the most common belief, and the most common mistake. According to extensive studies in the subject, here's the conclusion reached:
                  If you're commander:
                  • Everytime someone of your team captures a flag, repairs something or kills an enemy your CMD score goes up by NumPoints / NumberOfAlivePlayersInTeam. If someone captures a flag (2 points) and three other soldiers get a capture assist (3*1 point) for helping him while there are 6 teammates still alive at that moment you get (2+3)/6 = 0.83 CMD points. If a medic heals someone and there are 5 teammates alive at that moment he gets 1 point and you get 1/5 = 0.2 CMD points. This is the so-called "average team score".
                  • There's no regular team score (TS) or combat score (CS) while being a commander; only your stats are affected. If you capture a flag, the flag cap count increases but you don't get points for it. If you kill someone, your kill count (global, kit and weapon/vehicle) increases but you still get 0 points.
                  • Everything bad you do (teamkill, team damage...) lowers your team score
                  • No artillery teamkills = no negative points = good!
                  • If your team wins and you're commander at the end of the round, your CMD score is doubled. CMD score of commanders that resigned or left the game before the end of round is not doubled.
                  • TS and CS that you gained while you weren't commander are finally added to your CMD score giving the final score. And perhaps a medal too.
                  • Don't know what's the relationship with the global score though.

For the record.....I received the Veteran Assault Combat Badge and the Veteran Spec Ops Combat Badge while making kills with artillery as a Commander. Some of the posts above are misleading and/or wrong.

According to The American Heritage® Dictionary of the English Language, Fourth Edition, an average (aka "Arithmetic Mean") is
The value obtained by dividing the sum of a set of quantities by the number of quantities in the set.
Saying the commander's score is equal to the average of the players score implies it would be equal to all the players scores added together, divided by the number of players, which is rarely the case.
