    Re: Wtf?

I've had unusual lag (even the EA logo at start up lagS) , and have lost my connection to the server before, but i just put up with it. I'm not sure how to fix the problem, sorry. To wargimp: Yay freedom of speech!

Interesting to note that it seems to have nothing to do with the patch at all... it was a background communications issue between BF2 and Gamespy.

Very strange that I was able to play for such a long time without having any issues last night.
I believe that the patch has some new bugs indeed. After all, isn't a patch supposed to repair something by definition? and not add new problems to the mix?

Indeed... most of the time, anyway.
This was a features patch. We got new (free!) content and a restructuring of a major game mechanic.

What's more, the only major confirmed bug to come up in this patch has nothing to do with the patch! They (unwisely) messed with the backend communications. With a little luck, they'll be fixing it tonight.

Hopefully, between now and 1.31 and adittional real issues can be identified and dealt with.

          Re: Wtf?

I was having alot of problems with this patch, however like every patch it seems, it basicly all went away when I did a fresh install. The incremenetal patches seem to be cursed. Alot of the servers my friends and I frequent have been totally fine, packed for hours.

As for what it means for AF or something like 2142. for AF people that are running the game okay they will probably buy, but the others I can understand not wanting to buy it. As for 2142, even the BF2 fans, are probably putting down the money for what could be a BF2 mod with some of the same bugs. With any luck, they will put out a demo before hand, and it'll need to run flawlessly to really garner sales. especially since ET;QW has the opposite reputation.

I can respect that. I admit your posts often shed light on threads that seem to be heading down the dark path of mob mentality.

It would be nice to have a rep post once in a while, to let us know they are actually listening to the community and working on the problems. I need my fix, and do not plan on purchasing AF or anything else till I see how this pans out.

Being in Alberta I`m surprised I`ve never come across you in a server, as our pings would be close.
