It's hard to have success after a game as awesome as BF42. It's like when a band has a huge success with their first album, its impossible to top and the second album is almost never as successful.

I bought the game a little while after it came out, after the M60/LAW madness. While it had a few bugs, I think most of them were ironed out in patches, instead of things just becoming worse and worse with every patch. Granted, the game was pretty bad a points, I don't think the patch "fixes" were as inept as they are in this game.

You're right on that, the patches in this game are complete sh*t.

I was just referring to the fact that BF42 fans were disconcerted with BFV and lost alot of their 'goodwill' there, but people are gobbling up BF2 in droves after being let down by that.

That's why EA/Dice is walking the fine line of pleasing the "noobs" and pub players only and giving a giant "F*** YOU" to competitive play and the people that pay for servers. Anyway, the casual gamers are the ignorant masses that will buy a game despite it's developer 'purposely' ruining its predecessor, or that the preceding game was still not at 100% completion even a year after it was released. Anyway, by walking this fine line, they will still get sales even though BF2 keeps taking hits.

I don't think too many people who don't work for EA/Dice are going to say that they've done all they could to fix problems that shouldn't have been in the game to begin with. Then again, maybe they have and it's time to hire some more competent employees.

Why shouldn't EA/DICE give a big **** you to the competitive players? They will be playing the game long after the pubbers have left and generating no profits for EA/DICE beyond their original $50 investment. Unfortunately for the clan players, EA knows where the money is. Go play basketball or CS if you want competitive play.

You say the casual gamers are the "ignorant masses" that buy games despite them being in a perpetual beta state yet you are here discussing a game that you more than likely own that is supposedly far from completion. Hypocrite? What I find even more funny are all the impatient idiots like you that used to complain about game development taking FOREVER to complete. Now you bitch about having your cake and not being able to eat it too because it's only half cooked. Nothing will please the true "n00bs" like you; the guys that whine endlessly no matter what a company does and then decide create the obligatory "<insert game here sux cause of patch 123123.0012> im quitin this game forever!" thread when they realize their brain power isn't sufficient to cope with change.

It's not that my brain can't cope with it..

I have NEVER complained about this game other than the J-10's.. But now, I can't even get INTO the game let alone "cope with it". I tried joining a server 9 times, and each time it crashed to desktop.Most people would get ****ed off over 2 tries. So after that... I decide to join another server... and GUESS WHAT! Yeah, I go to click on a server, and some other server pops up with 1306924790 ping... And you tell me to "cope with it". Each time I click, a new server pops up, and you can't even see the players in the game, and you can't see the damn IP while in-game, to tell your friend the IP so he can join.

Once I finally get in the game... Guess what? 5 ****ing chinese cars sitting on the USMC carrier of wake... just blasting us.

I am not going to "cope with it".

EA Has royally FUCKED up this game.

I wasn't talking about "coping" with your game crashing consistently. Stop pulling words out of my ass. You have a problem that needs to be fixed on your end because me and the several thousands of players that are playing the game online right now do not have the same exact problem you do. Even if it was a problem introduced by the patch, the ONLY damn thing you can do is "cope with it" until DICE releases a hotfix. Surprise surprise?

Guess what? Lots of people had this same crashing problem before 1.3. In fact, I hear the same crap being regurgitated everytime a new patch comes out. About the cars, spawn somewhere else. You are under no obligation to pad the baserapers stats. If you need to fly that bad than load up Wake Air Show. Yea it sucks to get baseraped but there's nothing stopping you from doing it too if the rules allow it.

dont worry man... the assasins that ea sent were also updated and they seem to be crashing and are super slow and keep getting humvees dropped on their heads........

just watch out though maybe ea will artillery your house....:p

I just play to burn time. I doubt I will be sold on 2142 also. I was an avid UT player, but the way BF2 is being handled, I'm not sure I want to see the same bugs in their next game lol.

Why release the patch, than a hotfix, when you can test the patch and release it once it has been proven.

I agree and disagree with the "drive people over to 2142 theory". I really feel they just pushed the patch out so they can finally get AF out. EF was delayed for months because of 1.21 then 1.22. Both AF and EF were completed and sitting on the shelves a long time ago for DiCE. They need to get those things out the door so they can start generating some capital.
