We were hacked. Several times over the past two weeks, in fact.
While all passwords are encrypted and salted, it's recommended that you change your password here when you can.
Only the default (TGN Light) theme for now. Dark them is also coming back soon. Then CSN. Then Wrestlin' Nation. A lot of WIP stuff right now. There are a couple of things still not working either. Sorry.
I believe the OP is refferring to the 6 missile capacity SAM sites, IGLA and Stinger are useless on Jets whereas SAM sites have increased range and ofcourse firepower
People keep saying that, and I keep shooting jets down with them...
You know what would balance it: Take AA sites off planes ground radar, they shouldn't emit any heat signatures of any kind to pick up, that would keep the casual pilot from owning you, while the skilled ones will always take out AA sites first, or know the exact spot, that is, what site is most likely to lock on his current position.
Negative, thats already in there.
This would promote 2 things.
One, people will focus even less mentallywhen they are in the SAM site.
Two, pilots will mercilessly kill any AA that spawns.
In the end it wouldnt solve much of anything. Good pilots will still stomp you, and your score will mostly consist of downed less experienced pilots who made mistakes.
First I think they should fix all the sam sites that are hard placements. Also make it so that you can right mouse click to higlight the lock you want. This would alow you to kill friendly air craft. Don't laugh. I've seen jets do more harm than good up there. It would be nice to kill one so that you can stay alive at a flag when mr jet wants to just bomb every placement without thinking.

Oh.. FREE sam sites and UNMANED sam sites should look the same to everyone on the map. It's just tooooo easy for a pilot to look over the map and say... "What free kill am I getting today."
.
.
Mobile SAM, shoulder fired. Without it... it's just a black hole in the game. Why they screwed this up is anyones guess.
.
LET ME SAY THIS:
There are a hundred ways to kill a tank in BF2... Just 1 to down a plane... And that is by another plane... 'nuff said about balance.
i joined a wake map today, and 1 j10 pilot died 5 times in the whole 64 man game. this shouldnt be happening! he was flying past the essex and the essex gun could not kill it! jets should be scared of AA

I have great fun trying to kill jets with the mobile AA. Generally in order to get a kill you have to successfully predict where the jet will come from, then you may have to play a sick game of chicken with it, trying to bring it down before it smokes you. It is a genuinely fun encounter, even though I definitely have the short end of the stick as far as weaponry goes. I would just love it for each map which features jets to have at least one AA vehicle per team. I just love the AA vehicles.
OK guys, tell me what you think about replacing some of the AA sites with LPWS (Land-based Phalanx Weapons System) Which is similar to the USS Essex guns. Just Scroll down to the paragraph entitled Land Based Version I think it might be pretty sweet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phalanx...t_.28at_sea.29

Actually the real solution is to put mobile AA's on every map.. 4 missles and mobility would make it so that the pilots would actually have to worry about surface to air missles.
AA is strong enuff..and when i played 1.22 ..i didnt really mind jets..in fact i love seeing them and then hopping into a AA site and just shoot them down easier
