Yes it takes time, but as someone said its more realistic to actually get out of the car and repair something.

I mean how realistic is it that you can sit in your APC checking a 360deg view for people who might kill you yet still actually repair stuff?

Stay in a squad and ask for support from team mates as back up while you repair things.

This aint a reality sim buddy, is it realistic to shoot someone in the chest with an M95 and have them run away?
Is it realistic to shock paddle someone back to life that died from a hang grenade?
How about knifing someone 3-4 times in the head before they die?

Yup! that would basically took the mutual repairing while driving out of play and the the chopper over tank repairing.

It will be a shock to most players as now they actually need some planning to have repairs done. YIKES!

it works fine for me. did it today on karkand. repair sound and all. Used a vehicle to bring up arty quickly so we could get some breathing room.

Same, worked for me...was in a tank...rolled on by, up jumps the Arty :)

I don't know what the problem was yesterday, but today I was able to repair, while in the driver seat of a Vodik our artillery AND I got the repair icon on the right hand side.

Yesterday I recall not being able to do that, as well as others who said the same.

What's interesting, though, the server recently reset...I wonder if after a while you can't?

Um, I can still repair assets in a vehicle. Did it on Sharqi last night, no problems. (I did notice a separate issue that the destroyed artillery animation wasn't working properly, another 1.3 bug?)

What do you mean? A destroyed artillery looked fixed?

Yes. The guns were 'down' but looked fixed. When I approached them in the Voidnik they popped up, smoking, and I repaired them and got the points. They were also greyed on my minimap but the commander said he couldn't use them, which is why I went to fix.

Your right its not a reality sim, if you want arcade games tho Rev go get an XBox or a PS2.

The fact they are trying to add a hint of realism into the game is not to annoy all you Engineers but to make things seem more like real life.

"You were killed"

Ok so this point, critically wounded is not dead.....hence the reason you can heal and revive.

When it says "You were killed" You cannot revive, or at least I can't revive them.

The whole M95 thing I agree with its stupid that you can shoot someone in the heart for instance and they run away.

And the knife well.......thats why I dont use the knife very often.....gives people too much time to pump 10 bullets into ya.

Ok today I was able to repair an asset while inside a vehicle, but not only was its slower but I didn't get the repair icon.

Engineers already earn points at 1/3rd the rate of medic and support.
Engineers can't throw repair packs around that are an easy 1 point.
Medics and Support can still use their special ability inside vehicles.

None of which is realistic, it's not a sim.

Each patch just makes this game suck harder.

Heh, I get the opposite. The assets show as yellow (destroyed) until I physically see them up close, then not only are they fixed, but they're not yellow on the maps any more.

Look guys, you can't bring the reality vs arcade argument in this game. First of all it's been over-talked about. You need to be talking about balance. And right now, engineers are poor defenseless creatures (except with armor, mines, and the pump shotgun muhahahaha). Well...i'm being sarcastic about defenseless...but their support feature (repairing) is very difficult to use as of now, whereas medic and support have a quick system of dropping baggies on the ground for soldiers to eat. Engineers have to use blood and sweat to repair vehicles or assets, and then when they do finally track you down after chasing your half blown up tank across the map (on foot), you run them over. Engineers need a little help in the area of repairing, and that's what these folks are worried about. However, you can still repair in vehicles, so this whole thread is based on a misconception.

Yet able to reheal yourself instantly
Yet able to resupply yourself with unlimited grenades

I think i'll just stay in planes from now on, oh yeah. Not if it's an F35 vs J10 map...
