It takes me 4 goddamn minutes to login. Do you know what I could do in 4 minutes? Good thing BF2 alt-tabs so I can go to some dirty sites and put my 4 minutes to some use.

You do understand that this always happens right around patch time, right?

Mad rush for everyone trying to get in to check things out and meanwhile EA is usually trying to prop up the backend. If you've cleared your crap and are still getting long log-in times, give it a day or two. Things will stabalize.

I cant login at all with my account. I deleted my chache folder and cleared my general.con folder. But I could login with my other account just fine...

Just cleared my favorites that I don't use because of the crappy menu. Now loads in 5-10 seconds. I don't see why EA couldn't have included this as a fix in 1.3 .

Did you clear the general.con in all your profiles, or just in one?

is there a way of doing that out of game, is it stored in a file on your hdd? cuz it takes so long to delete each one cuz it has to refresh first.

It is known that login times take longer with the more junk you have in your favourites folder. Now by junk i mean servers that are red ie. offline . Everytime you enter the account it has to be loaded and those servers are checked to see if they are online or offline. As you know when ever you click on a server that is offline it takes a super long times to load the info on the server. So what to do? Obviously delete all the servers offline. It cuts down load times significantly for logging in. You can also delete all your favourites but how i do not remember. It was mentioned on bfpodcast as a tweek. So they may have it in there show notes there.

that's what i need, is a way of tweaking some con file or something similar. it just takes too long to delete them ingame.

In your mydocuments/battlefield2/profile/000# folder.
It really would help if you read the thread. It's been stated a couple times.

thank you wargimp. there is so much info on these boards it can be right under your nose and you'd never find it. i do use the search function, but this is an issue ive never read about, and had no idea how to search for a resolution to something i didnt know could be resolved.

Hehe, I just have to laugh about the number of times I've posted that info... and I assumed that every non-noob knew it by now.

It's not really a biggy, just kinda ironic that somehow info like this keeps getting missed by those who really should know by now. Kinda like people who still believe there's a pentalty to your score for being TK punished... Watch... now there's gonna be people poppin up to either argue that point or just didn't know.

Thanks for the good info regarding getting rid of old favourites to decrease log in time. I'm back to around 10 seconds now. :rock:

Took a long time for me too. I'm assuming it's because everyone is logging on to try out the new patch that the server is just being flooded.
