    I might try this too.

After using the incremental 1.3 on my game, my images are all messed up and now there is no warning signs above friendly C4, mines or claymores.

My map border is also messed up now too.

So, do you just install the full patch? YOu don't have to uninstall the game and reinstall, then use the full patch??

        Correct. Try it, anyway.
Also make sure you don't have too much junk running in the background. Virus scanners in particular can cause minor write errors that corrupt installs.

I think I'm just going to install ONLY full patches from now on. I know from making installs that's its much easier to do full upgrades than incremental (too many variables if you have many previous patches).

Why doesn't the server browser screen have the "Refresh" button anymore, you have to update all the servers to get updated ping times now. That sucks.

            I think that's correct because that's what I did.

Re: Incase of problems: Use the FULL patch

Incremental patch screwed up my game. It first started ctd during matches and then it got so bad that it wouldn't let me connect to any game other than creating my own server and playing. It would just crash to desktop.

This OT solution worked for me. I uninstalled fully deleted the whole EA Games \ Battlefield 2 folder and wiped the My Documents\ Battlefield 2. Finally wiped any EA Games and BF2 stuff from registry and reinstalled using the full 1.22 (still didn't trust 1.3) then after that solved everything went up using the full 1.3 .

Everything seems fine except my favorite mod has to upgrade to be fully complient.

Thanks dude. My game game has been scr3w3d since I installed the incremental patch. Now I have a nice clean install on my nice new HDD and full patch.....BF2 works a treat.

Got CTD after installing the incremental patch 1.3. Did a complete reinstall of BF2 and patched using the full 1.3 patch. Got CTD again. **** this game, not worth the hassle (and I've put up with most problems all through BF, BFV and BF2). Obviously someone is not doing their job properly, a shame really but who cares?

                    Curiousity.

OK .. .... so upgraded to 1.3 using incremental.
EA applied hotfix to 1.3. Did this fix anything ? Roll back version ?
Currently have CTD + connexion issues.

Recommend that uninstall everything / reinstall / upgrade with full 1.3 patch ?

                    Thanks in advance.

My m8 just re-installed XP, and then BF2. He is trying to patch 1.30, but he gets CTD when he joins a server. Grrr!!!

Ever since 1.3 ive had to re-install my whole OS system because of that PB error of the restricted privileges, even when I was the admin of the PC...

However, after that I installed the FULL patch, works like a charm. :)

for me i have used full from day one and had problems since day one so i find this not true and just plain 1.3 issues eg.mem leak and browser /connection problems

oh and i believe desktop crash is mem leak related like bf2 first release?

server crash may be punkbuster access and mem leak<bad combo as it seems a little lag or pb checking ur files gets u kicked, for me at least.

                            ^^^only my wacky theory:p

                              Hi
I incrementally updated at 1.3, got ctd problems, so applied the full patch, but now have more random ctd/reboot problems, more frequent sound looping freezes etc. (Midnight Sun seems the worse offernder). So I will have to be a big boy and totally re-install with the new patch.

My question is I have SF, EF and AF installed - I obviously have the disk for SF, but will I have to download EF and AF totally again to re-install, or are there EF and AF directories I can backup/save on disk to save time when I re-install ? Any advice on the order to re-install much appreciated.

                              Thanks

The full patch is just as buggie as incremental if not worse. I never had my pc freeze up which happened twice so far with the full patch after a reinstall.
