Should be able to.
The full patch is version independant and won't looks at your current version. It just overwirtes everything.

I've used this route to fix other people's corrupted installs several times and it's always worked. Um, except for that time it turned out to be a big chunk of bad RAM. That didn't work.

Bitches, moans, gripes and groans. You paid real money for the game so it's your right to do so. All those out there that tell these people to STFU ought to take their own advice and STFU.

I mean, lets say you bought a car and the radio didn't work. You take that car back to the dealer and tell them to FIX IT!

You go pick it up and he says he fixed it but now it only gets two stations. You tell him FIX IT! Eith that or I demand my money back for an inferior product.

Now my recollection was this game was heavily hyped. And yet, it's nearly a year old and still many bugs are not fixed. I would have expected more, frankly. Pretty sad if you ask me, which I know most of you didn't. Too bad. :)

I installed the incremental, and haven't had any catastrophic problems, yes bugs, the server browser is screwed, but nothing that will interfer with having a game.

I'm not trying to flame anyone here. In the past, I have been very outspoken about the way that the game has been changed. I agree with having a game that is balanced and fair to all, but eliminating any learning curve or skill requirement is not the way it is done, nor is it done by ruining things that work well and creating bugs in items where none existed prior to a patch. Remember, a patch is supposed to repair something, not f**k things up that weren't before. Now this:

Its crazy. After all these patches that EA has came out with. And all the problems tha tpeople had. I have never once has a problem. I just got done playing a game where iw as gunner for a heli. And i was TVGM the crap outta people. And had no bugs or lags or whatever.
MAybe im lucky? i mean i have never ocne had a problem.

btw, it takes me about 2 or 3 seconds to login in. not minutes.

Very very very much agreed. I crashed a couple times. but i didnt really care. it worked itself out.

Wait a minute now, I am confused. A minute ago you said that you had no probelms, you dont mind crashing to desktop? Hmmm, sounds to me like you dont know sh!t about sh!t when it comes to computers in any way shape or form. You probably got the game like in the last couple weeks and have no idea what the previous patches have done to bring problems into the forfront (memory leak problem in 1.01 or the account log in delay in 1.03?).

If you find that crashing to desktop acceptable then you are exactly the type of take whatever I can get consumer all large companies are looking for. Your too busy sucking up to notice someone mounting you from the rear I guess, or maybe you like that sort of thing. CTD is NEVER acceptable, it is a real bug that should have been addressed along with the numerous other bugs in game. People are not just bitching for the hell o f it. They are legitimate complaints that have been around for months and months. So if you and your little Dice cheer squad enjoy the bugs and find them acceptable, terrific. In the mean time, people ahve the right to express themselves be in in contradiction wo your opinions or not.

You want me to stop complaining about the way the game is being handled? Send me $90 to cover the cost of the game thus far and I'll be more than happy to hand over my discs, otherwise find the "Hallelujah Dice threads" and post there.

If you are having issues with CTDs, try using the FULL patch.
That's FULL, not incremental, FULL patch.

Chances are very high that you've had some corruption creep in.

Never in the history of any online games I've played has this every been an issue. This is 1000% unacceptable. Corruption from where?

Well, that's just one aspect. Any time you do anything with a computer, there's a chance for odd things to happen. I've had this sort of thing happen with plenty of other titles and applications... including Windows XP.

The vast majority of problems people have had with BF2 are on their own end, tho. Running crap in the background, using modified content, forgetting to make backups, that sorta stuff.

1.3 has screwed up my BF2, (full install). disregarding the CTD's, the server browser is now even more of a chore to use. For some reason they have decided to automatically re-order the server list whenever I click on a server. So it basically reshuffles the list and displaces the desired server with almost every click. It appears to reshuffle them based on ping. But I also get the ping indicators going crazy and no information is displayed on any selected server (not even player lists).



Oh well. Not the end of the world, i'll go and read. Lets hope 1.4 doesn't make it any worse.

Could we be suffering from problems arising from the switch from Dice Sweden to Dice Canada?

Maybe, I have no idea. The thing with this particular reshuffling of server lists is that you click on a server... it reshuffles and deselects (!) the one you just clicked on and whatever server takes it's position will become your selected server. You can just end up chasing a server around the list and it keeps popping around and getting deselected the moment you select it (no doubt some form of taunting ).

But I've found that if I search for a particular map and then sort by ping, then switch to sort by map name, the list shuffling and server selection loss seems to stop. So i'm assuming that they have simply made the list update with every click, and not just when I press refresh. Bit of a pain.

That of course does not fix the ping indicator with seemingly random numbers (2340835, which jumps to 45, then goes to 0, then back to a huge number, for example) or the lack of any server info. But it's a start I guess

Actually The reason i dont care about ctd is because i figured that my problem was just because a couple servers were not runing the patch correctly. So i was just like whatever. And tried a couple other servers and it works fine now.

ANd i got my game july 7, 2005. And yes i do know a good bit about computers i have built several for several people and am in college for computer eningeering.

So yea. In all the patch has done nothing to affect me. Because i tried other servers and they work fine.

well with me sf is UNPLAYABLE and it says theres a missing light shader, so i would stop saying complain cause i just spent 30 bucks on a gaem that wont even play? right.

i have lossed massive amounts of fps after the patch while in vehicles, and overall. i wish i could roll mine back.

i've never had lagging/stuttering issues this bad. up until the patch. and the people that havent suffered any shortcomings... good for you.
