A decent player is:
1. Someone who heals you when you're hurt, revives you when you're dead (and still not in plain view of the tank that killed you), replenishes your ammo when you're low, and fixes your vehicle/assets when they're damaged.
2. Someone who can still take the extra second to emote "Gimme a ride!", "Thanks, I owe you one", and "You got it". Cheesy to the noobs and uber jerks, but it makes all the difference to the teammates.
3. Someone who will not base rape, even when his teammates are doing it.
4. Someone who will not stack a team with his clan. An honorable clan spreads its players even over a pub, not stacked on one side to "own" a bunch of unorganized PFCs.
5. Someone who turns around to pick you up if he is the only one driving/flying.
6. Someone who TALKS to his commander and squadmates. Typing is half way there, but silence is for jerks and idiots.
7. SOMEONE WHO HAS LEARNED ALL HE CAN IN SINGLE PLAYER, THEN COMES INTO MULTIPLAYER. Stop learning how to command or use your kit when we're all relying on you.
8. Someone who abstains from unnecessary swearing, name calling, and racist/derogatory remarks. You may be anonymous, but you can still be a civil stranger.
9. Someone who lines up his gunner for a TV-guided missile shot, not just taking an "automated" cannon for a ride.
