You should read the entire thread before posting, it should be "obvious" that no 1 cares about enemy n00bs, It is team m8 n00bs that **** every 1 off

There is a short list of words that devalue any argument you are making on the internet:

noob (or n00b).
l33t, leet also.. I don't care if you can replace words with numbers.. spell the word elite and get over it.
pwn (or own, no one owns anyone.. they got rid of that in 1865 in the U.S.).
Hacks, or haxxoor, or whatever the kids spell it like these days.
Gay, ghey, homo, or anything involving homo-erotic banter.
Anything involving them with sexual acts with your mother.
Anything involving sexual acts between you and your dog.

And, of course, Godwin's Law:

But hey... don't forget EA's master plan for ranked/unranked servers:

Oh wait... that can't be correct. All I see on public servers are noobs and tards. I usually find better players on private non-ranked servers run by dedicated admins. Hmph.

Agreed. People who played the previous titles may have a leg up but like the evolution of all game titles there are enough subtle differences that you need to learn to be effective. Heck, each map in vanilla, SF, and EF have to learned to be effective. Repetitive tactics in each one will not work.

Cant say i give a damn if somebody is running around with the nade launcher, i dont seem to die from it much. I love playing vs cheaters tho, when somebody has a 3rd party program influencing their gameplay to give them an edge so far beyond your ability to respond ..really makes the game fun.

I read posts here all the time and almost always there is some reference to a noob screwing something up or not doing something right. I've only been playing a few months now and I realize I am not very good nor will I ever be as good as most but wasn't everyone a "noob" at some point in time? All the ace pilots and tank commanders out there at one time had to mount up for the first time. I'm sure everyone tried out the GL once or twice but now it is refered too as a noob weapon. Instead of all the good, experienced players slamming the new players how about showing how good you "really" are and offer some of your vast knowledge to the newer players when you can. It can only make the gameplay better for all and strengthen the BF2 community. You might discover someone who will watch your back when the "***t hits the fan".

I dont consider someone who just started playing this game a 'NOOB'..

SOMEONE WHO KNOWS HOW TO PLAY, BUT CHOSES TO SCREW OFF
ANYHOW.

examples; idiots who use jeeps as taxis for a 60 yard ride to a jet or
chopper.

idiots who spawn camp, expecially at the beginning of a game, the
enemies main spawn point.. i.e. noobs who hop in chopper in wake
island and head off to the enemy carrier to spawn rape the carrier
while the enemy team is simply trying to start playing..

so many examples, too many to list..

Sorry I should have been more specific. I began playing in March 2006. I thought the game came out almost a year ago but I could be wrong. I've logged around 110 hours so far which put's me around 300000th in time played.

I don't know about any 1 else, but I was a n00b starting BF2 last year, but by the time I bought SF I was a seasoned veteran, & PWN3D from day 1

n00b is definately a word that is thrown around waaay too much...

n00b derived from the word 'newbie', or 'newb' for short, reffering to one who is new to a particular thing.....but now......now the word means so much more......

a n00b is:

1. a person who is new (still)
2. a person who isnt that good (may not be new)
3. a person you killed
4. a person who kills you
5. a smacktard/griefer
6. someone you disagree with
7. someone who beats you to a vehicle
8. a person who enjoys using the same kit and/or vehicle throughout a round
9. a person who enjoys a particular map (karkand would be the best example)
10. someone who plays for points/awards..

when i hear the word n00b, i know this guy could be reffering to any of these meanings of the word....therefore rendering the word meaningless....the point is not clear anymore....

btw, i dont hate anybody i encounter online.....its silly to hate an online persona, especially on the grounds that they are new....we should welcome newcomers to the game, without them it will surely die out....it is the responsibilty of the more experienced to lend their insight, and help when they can...

There is a massive different between a "n00b" and a "newb".


Actions of a n00b...

Takes off in jet, possibly killing one's own teammate to do so, only to be killed immediately or crash into something like the satellite dish on the U.S.S. Essex.

Uses his grenade launcher to kill someone three feet away, or throws a grenade into the 'Hotel' flag cap erea when five of his teammates are in there so he can get the kill on the one enemy whom they are fighting.

Starts the round off by throwing flashbangs, especially in night maps, and especially when around fellow teammates.


Dialogue of a n00b...

"OMG STFU my p1st0l k1LL3d y0u!!1"
"I take it in teh ass!!1"
"G1mme tank fo' me n' muh mate lol"
"WTF heal me med OMG lol"


Actions of a newb...

You will see a newb standing still, usually looking around, up, down, and occasionally jumping. The newb is at this point getting used to the controls of the game.

You will see a newb run up to a car/jet/tank/etc. and crouch, jump, switch weapons, go prone, fire weapon, possibly throw grenade, type accidental text, obviously trying to find the 'enter' key.

You will see a newb get in a humvee, drive it until he sees a helicopter, get into the helicopter (assuming he knows by now how to enter), and take off horizontally, crashing into a nearby tree.



Yes, both newbs and n00bs are annoying, pesky, and irritating, but I would much rather have a newb on my team then be forced to deal with an arrogant n00b.
