Re: How to stat pad without making it too obvious
Some accurate observations but erroneous conclusions. On item 1, players quickly learn how to use the BF2 server browser or web sites like bf2tracker.com to check a server to see which side is better and then wait for a spot to open up on the better team before joining. Others will simply switch from the losing team to the winning team during the round. Very rarely will server admins have anything to do with team balance.
On item 2, team swapping between rounds is optional. On our server, we've implemented something I've not seen elsewhere...teams are swapped using a "randomizing" feature where about half the teams change sides. It helps mix things up and helps keep one team from becoming too stacked.
On items 3, 4 and 5 that's strictly a function of higher-end computers. I often am one of the first to load into a map but I don't find base-raping uncappables or spawn points to be any fun. Unfortunately, there are players that flash their high K/D ratios and awards around to show how great they are but when you actually see them play you see that many of them use "cheap" tactics like these to prop up their stats. Best thing to do is just find another server to play on.
