    Licensing system for vehicles.

I think that there should be some type of licensing system for BF. I know it won't happen in BF2, but maybe would work for BF2142?

I'm tired of stupid people getting into vehicles (mainly air vehicles) and crashing/doing something extremely stupid, over... and over... and over again.. The majority of these people also TK for vehicles.

It would be cool if there was some type of licence you would get if you passed a test, and people who don't have the licence can't enter the vehicle in an online game, and then there could be higher classes like a "class A" licence that would get the vehicle more often than say a "class D" or something.

I don't know what kind of test it could be, but like say, for the jet, it would consist of dogfighting, bombing, and using the machine gun. Maybe for the heli it would be like (pilot) basic manuevers, scanning for threats, and aiming your gunner for camera missles. Or (gunner) guiding camera missles and gunning with the cannon (leading targets... etc).

Too many idiots take crucial vehicles for the teams victory, and completely suck in them, causing the whole team a loss.

I know this won't happen for BF2, but maybe something like this should/could/will be implemented into BF2142?

i can only say that i agree whit it

but i think most peeps buy bf game b/c of the planes and ohter things
and not 2 do a test before they can use it
and if so EA/Dice make the training test 2 easy it think they are
allways good in screw up things

Gran Turismo style. Would be a nice feature. Although you have to remember not everyone is world class, they paid for the game too and are allowed to use the vehicles. But how about a system if you die a several amount of time in a specific vehicles within 2 or 3 minutes, you can't enter for a while and are advised to use another vehicle.

And what about if you TK someone, you are unable to enter a vehicle for a given amount of time. This may annoy if you really did only accidently TK, but it's just an idea.

i kinda agree but dont at the same time.

Pubs. A mixture of folks out to do one thing........have a good time.
Hopefully that good time includes courtesy, and teamwork.

Clans. Do what you do best.

I dont think there should be a test of any sort for public game play. Nothing is anyones in a game, cept of course the admin. His server, his money..........sucks but thats life. I hate to see folks waste good equiptment as well, however, it is their right to do so.

Perhaps once you're in the vehicle, you can't get ejected. And I assume you'd survive in the vehicle for long enough before being killed so the 'penalty' doesn't apply to you.

What about you cannot enter a particular type of vehicle, transport excluded, for a given time after dying in that vehicle.. That way, once you've had your crack at tanking or flying, its someone elses turn and you have to go off and do some groundpounding.

                any thoughts?

Now this, i can agree with. Your idea is sound. I think perhaps the licenses should be offered as unlocks with ranks..hear me out first. You reach a new rank. If we use BF2's unlock system it could go something like this.

You have earned a new unlock! Chose either a new Vehical License or a New weapon!

Now, I dont think you should not be allowed to get in a vehical with out the license, however, if some one with a higer level license wants to get in the vehical within a certain amount of time after you have entered it (say 30 seconds), they should be able to take over. If an unlicensed fellow gets a tank and is fighting well and stays alive, there really is no reason to complain or to boot him out of it. If bad driver manages to get away from you before you can get in to take over, he will die soon and you can wait for the tank or whatever to respawn and you are certain to get it from him.

Its not perfect, but you see where im going here. You have to chose, vehical priority or better weapons..and the people that go with the vehical license will get priority over those who didnt...it was thier choice to chose a weapon over a license, they will just have to cope.

I really wanna agree with you, but I cant. A licence system like this would not prevent people from TKing to get veichles. They'll just take their licence, and then TK along, just as before.

Agreed, it would be cool, and add some to the whole ranking system. But that class A would get the veichle more often than class D wouldn't work. A class D guy can'y just stand beside the helicopter waiting to see if some class A guy wants it. That would be a waste of time, and time is tickets in a war.

Sounds all good, but its gonna take some time to get the licence for all the different types of veichles. [/QUOTE]

Im not sure wether having a licence system will help this. Very few people are actual "real noobs", in the meaning that they cant do anything. What's mainly the problem, is all the fighting over so called "good veichles" like jets and attack helicopters. That ruins the game.

I would rather approve for a system where you take different types of offline tests to unlock specific kits. Each kit has its own ability when it comes to veichles. Only kits supported by that veichle can drive it. Say engineers and antitanks can use the tank, assault and support the transport chopper, snipers the jets, and spec ops and medic the assault chopper. All classes can of course use land based transports and boats.

                        Re: Licensing system for vehicles.

How about if someone gets in a plane, heli, or car and crashes it, somehow the game should determine the amount of time it took for them to die, and how they died. Then when they respawn they cannot get back in said vehicle for a certain amount of time.

                        Scenario:

                        Asshat_Bob TK's for Plane

                        Asshat_Bob crashes plane 10 seconds after take-off.

Asshat_Bob respawns....Asshat_Bob unable to enter Plane for 15 minutes.

That right there would solve quite a bit.

Now if they were to get killed then it wouldn't matter. But if they were to take off and crash into the ground, or a building etc....then the plan above should kick-in and take action.

Btw, this is also something that I have personally wanted for quite some time. Not only would it take care of ****ty pilots/drivers but also those that tend to whore up.
