    Licensing system:

Class A: top pilot qualification course passed
Class B: advanced qualification course passed
Class C: standard qualification course passed
Class D: no qualification course passed

Essentially, anyone could enter a vehicle but if, for example, a class D enters and a class B comes along, the former would get kicked out of the vehicle or moved to the secondary position. If two class A players and one class B player come along for a position in (for example) the bomber and one of the A players gets there with the B player, obviously the B player will be placed on gunner duties... but once the second A gets to the vehicle, B gets kicked out in place of A.

This system would allow unqualified individuals to fly should no one else be around, but prioritize the skill should a mixed set of classes be found on a specific team. Simple, efficient and eliminates many problems.

      Re: Licensing system for vehicles.

Not so much as a license to fly or use a vehicle/plane/heli/drive etc... howsabout a certain rank? At least a Gunnery Sgt. or something this'd keep the noob driving to a minimum.

How about if someone gets in a plane, heli, or car and crashes it, somehow the game should determine the amount of time it took for them to die, and how they died. Then when they respawn they cannot get back in said vehicle for a certain amount of time.

      Scenario:

      Asshat_Bob TK's for Plane

      Asshat_Bob crashes plane 10 seconds after take-off.

Asshat_Bob respawns....Asshat_Bob unable to enter Plane for 15 minutes.

That right there would solve quite a bit.

Now if they were to get killed then it wouldn't matter. But if they were to take off and crash into the ground, or a building etc....then the plan above should kick-in and take action.

Btw, this is also something that I have personally wanted for quite some time. Not only would it take care of ****ty pilots/drivers but also those that tend to whore up.
This is beautiful... cept' I'd proly say 5 minutes or 10 minutes.

Its pretty simple anyone not thinking this is a good idea, probably is a noob or can't fly to begin with.

I like this one too, very well thought out.

Licensing system is actually not a bad idea. In America's Army you had to take some training lessons to became medic or sniper I think, and you had to pass those with certain score.

Here is my question. If I need a license to fly said aircraft...and have to pass a test to get in it...how am I supposed to be good at it, If I cant enter until I'm good enough to pass...I can't pratice with something I cant get into

Yeah, I've always thought something like this is needed. I ussually thought of America's Army style, but gran turismo is good too.

Course you can, but offline. You can play just as now in offline mode.

This could be done with the current rank system, without adding any training stuff.

in offline? but offline is rubbish. Unless they make a stand alone offline bf2 training program, and that would be cool.

                        Re: Licensing system for vehicles.

I think licensing is a pretty bad idea. It's better if people practice flying/whatever in single player, but there's only so much you can do there and getting exposure to a dogfighting situation isn't something you can do in SP. That only comes with practice and I would know because I'm trying to become a better helo pilot now. I crash/get owned frequently but I don't TK for vehicles and I'll switch positions to gunner if someone wants to fly so I can observe them.

Also the idea about not letting people into vehicles for a certain amount of time after they are killed in that vehicle is bad too. Suppose you're defending a flag alone like the South base on Wake (or whatever it's called). If you get killed in the tank and then you're defending the base, it would be retarded that you couldn't get in the tank again b/c the enemy would and then you'd be gone.

If you all are constantly getting TK'ed for vehicles by noobs come play on a better server with responsible admins who kick people for that kind of behavior. If someone who's not as 1337 as you get's in a vehicle before you, deal with it...none of the vehicles have your name on it anwyays.

                          Re: Licensing system for vehicles.

Why not make it so you can't spawn on an airfield twice in a row. That way everyone gets a go, and would hopefully stop these ridiculous que's to use a plane/chopper. It might not help your side win the war, if a noob is getting a turn in the good stuff, but it will give a team a half decent chance of winning if more are actually fighting instead of sitting in the hangar punching the e key as fast as they can, then moaning about how a noob stole "their" plane.
Maybe some of these hardware whores should have a rethink.
It's meant to be a team game, so come on whores, help your side, not just yourselves.

And what happens when someone crashes because of something outside their control.

I've sure we've all had lag spikes, or "There is a problem with your connection" messages when youre in the middle of vehicles combat. This can be bad enough when you're in a ground vehicle, but if you're in a helicopter or jet, this can be fatal, and it can be a problem that is not your fault.

good point about the double spawning, i didnt think of that

but again some maps like wake, the airfield is the key, what if you arent flying, and just defending, waiting for 32 allies to approach from the beach on foot

great idea though, i like it

Too many idiots take crucial vehicles for the teams victory, and completely suck in them, causing the whole team a loss.
That is one thing I can agree with it pi$$es me off, but the system you proposed it too subjective and just wouldn't be fair.

If the world was perfect then yes that would be a good system, but imagine all the unfair possiblities....

You could have a friend sign into your account, pass the tests and you could still get in vehicles and totally suck.

and then as far as this idea goes
                                Asshat_Bob TK's for Plane

                                Asshat_Bob crashes plane 10 seconds after take-off.

Asshat_Bob respawns....Asshat_Bob unable to enter Plane for 15 minutes.

That right there would solve quite a bit.
Thats one example of something that is way too subjective.

First off lets say what if there was a lag spike and my chopper ran u over (accident) and then tipped over and exploded....

Not able to enter chopper for 15 mins....not fair.

Lets say I take off and someone hops at chopper (or stands in front of jet) and forces a tk. Then an friendly blackhawk rams me and I get all the tks and it says Alcorr is no more.

Not able to get into a vehicle for 15 mins after soemthing totally unpreventable?

I hope you guys can see how bad these two ideas are.

The truth is that although I it when a bunch of noobs get into vehicles and just suck, its just another unfair/sucky part of online public gaming....
